After returning home, Chen Liang quickly washed up and went to his room. Xiao Yu had not even turned on the light. Chen Liang climbed into bed in the dark, only to discover that Xiao Yu, who had deliberately changed into a provocative outfit with a traditional dress and black stockings, had already fallen asleep.

Tonight had left Xiao Yu frightened and on edge, worrying herself to exhaustion. After bathing and changing, she had lain down and drifted off at once.

Chen Liang kissed her forehead tenderly, then wrapped his arms around her and slipped into sleep, his hand resting on her curves. She had been worn out helping him all day.

Rarely had the whole family gotten such an early night. Chen Liang was still asleep with Xiao Yu in his arms when he was startled awake by his sister-in-law's sharp cry. He hurriedly threw on his clothes and ran over, only to find that she had woken up and not seen little Chen Hong, scaring her half to death.

Before the sister-in-law had even finished shouting, little Chen Hong came out of Madam Chen's room, a fried dough stick clamped in her mouth. "Geez, Mom, how can you sleep so late? You're already late for kindergarten."

Seeing Chen Hong, the sister-in-law, still half-dressed and shamelessly exposed, no longer cared about propriety. She sprang from the bed and rushed to Chen Hong, holding her tightly in her arms.

Damn it, so the sister-in-law had been binding her chest in secret all along. From that accidental glimpse, Chen Liang actually felt that her figure was no worse than Xiao Yu's. His brother was truly blessed.

Seeing his brother's awkward expression, Chen Liang tactfully withdrew, then turned and ran to find Xiao Yu. No, he had to prove with action that Xiao Yu's was bigger!

His sister-in-law's sudden enthusiasm was a little too much for Chen Liang to handle. I really can't eat any more, Sister-in-law—could you please stop piling food into my bowl?

Though so much had happened last night, in Chen Hong's memory she had merely slept beautifully. She was puzzled as to why she had fallen asleep without eating dinner, but with her big-hearted nature, once she couldn't make sense of it, she simply let it go.

Waking up hungry in the morning, Chen Hong dressed herself and ran off to her grandparents' place to look for food. Then, when her sister-in-law couldn't find her, she woke in a panic and screamed, thinking she had only found Chen Hong in a dream.

When Chen Hong was brought over by the scream, she was immediately pulled into a tight embrace. Her sister-in-law truly could not imagine the rest of her life without Chen Hong, nor what joy could possibly remain if she lost her.

Once the sister-in-law was finally certain she was not dreaming, she returned to her usual self. The only difference was that every time Chen Liang finished a meal, she would rush to serve him more. By now it was already his fourth bowl, and if he kept eating, Chen Liang really had reason to suspect he might burst himself to death.

When she moved to serve him yet another bowl, Chen Liang quickly stopped her. "Sister-in-law, I really can't eat any more. Don't serve it." Eat any more and you'd kill me. Then wouldn't you be able to inherit my supermarket?

After his usual errand of sending Xiao Yu to work, Chen Liang rode back to the Red Star Steel Mill. As soon as he reached the security office, before even changing clothes, his uncle-master called him over.

It turned out that the other three families whose children had been abducted had all come looking for them. By calling Chen Liang over, his uncle-master was clearly making arrangements to pave the way for him.

"Hello, hello, hello!" As the three families hurried up to the factory gate, Chen Liang quickly stepped forward and shook hands with each of them in turn.

Damn it, those child-snatchers really were something else. Aside from Chen Hong, who was just a little girl, the other three were boys, and their family backgrounds were anything but simple.

Come to think of it, in this day and age, among the families that raised children carefully, how many could possibly have simple backgrounds?

Besides, those abductors were idiots with a death wish. They ignored the ragged, runny-nosed wild kids dirty from head to toe and specifically targeted the well-raised children.

Only after the introductions did Chen Liang come to know them. Inwardly, he couldn't help clicking his tongue; these three families were ridiculously formidable.

One was a senior official in the steel system, one a leader from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the last was even more heavyweight: the head of the grain sector.

In the meeting room, the three families were crying their hearts out, their faces flooded with tears. Anyone who had never lost a child could never truly understand such soul-rending pain in a lifetime.

Seeing the scene before him, even Uncle-Master, whose heart was made of iron, could not help but grow moist around the eyes. Truly, the hearts of parents are pitiable.

Speaking of which, Uncle-Master was himself a pitiful man. Back when he joined the revolution, he damaged his health and became unable to father children. He would never be a father in his life, which was why he had treated Chen Liang and Bober as his own sons, pouring his heart and soul into the two of them, one reckless and one foolish.

After seeing off the three families who had come to collect their children, Chen Liang returned to his usual routine at work: every day he would take Xiao Yu to work, accompany her to lunch at noon, then improvise a bit; when tired, he would nap at the library, and when not tired, he would wander the streets for a while before picking Xiao Yu up from work.

A month passed in the blink of an eye. Silly Zhu, who had completely fallen out with Chen Liang, would start shaking his bed every time a cat meowed at Chen Liang's home. These two brutes had recently turned the whole courtyard into a place of shameless frenzy, and though spring had not even arrived, they were already rutting everywhere.

Early one morning, while Chen Liang was washing up, he saw Silly Zhu walking over while leaning against the wall, rubbing his aching lower back and giving Chen Liang a provocative look.

A man would rather die than admit defeat in matters like this. Looking at the pathetic Silly Zhu, Chen Liang felt quite bored. They were not even on the same level. Even mocking him was no fun at all.

In the capital, there was hardly any real spring or autumn. Basically, once the heavy clothes came off, summer had already begun, and it was time to start wearing short sleeves.

After washing his face, Chen Liang happily ran off to buy little wontons for Xiao Yu. Sigh, who knew how many more times he would get to eat these little wontons?

After leaving some for his parents and his brother's family in the little kitchen, Chen Liang carried his and Xiao Yu's food rations into the room.

Xiao Yu, wearing nothing but Chen Liang's white shirt, was tidying the bed.

Chen Liang, having long since risen above such crude temptations as uniform fetishes, now admired, with the air of a sage, the faint allure she revealed in careless moments.

Xiao Yu, the ultimate juicing fairy, had squeezed out Chen Liang's very last drop last night.

"Wife, come eat," Chen Liang called to her after admiring her for a while.

When the two of them were all cuddled up, Chen Liang behaved as properly as the ancient sage on the riverbank, the one who could sit unmoved. Though he still showered her with sweet talk, his hands were obedient beyond belief. Ha, Chen Liang had already stepped prematurely into the sorrow of middle-aged men.

After eating, while Xiao Yu was changing and washing up, Chen Liang secretly slipped over to Old Lady Deaf's place. That secret virility wine steeped for ninety-nine days and eighty-one nights—it ought to be ready by now, shouldn't it?

He first knocked off the sealed mud around one jar, then lifted the wooden lid. At once, a rich aroma of sorghum liquor surged out. He sniffed carefully and only detected a faint medicinal scent inside; nothing seemed particularly remarkable. Was the wine actually done steeping or not?

Maybe he should take some and let Silly Zhu try it first?
