It will be released tomorrow.
I originally wrote a long essay, but after some thought, I deleted it. To put it simply: I’m launching the book and asking for your first subscription.
Haha, just having a bit of fun.
It’s been about a month and a half since I started publishing this story. In some ways, things have gone smoothly, but there have been ups and downs as well. Over this past month, I’ve watched new readers appear and others disappear; people come and go, and it’s a mix of excitement and heartache. Every time the collection count goes up by one, or I get a recommendation or a tip, I’m happy for half the day. If the collection count drops, I’ll be sad for hours, clutching my phone and rolling around in frustration. When I see your comments, I can’t help but want to type out long explanations right away, worried that you might misunderstand or dislike a certain scene I wrote.
Especially during the promotion period, I’d wake up in the middle of the night—three or four in the morning—grab my phone, and anxiously check the stats.
Tomorrow the book goes live. To be honest, I’m not sure how many of you are still following along, and I don’t know how things will go tomorrow. That’s why I’m posting this single chapter to ask for your first subscription.
Since I’m going live, there will definitely be extra updates, though I can’t guarantee exactly how many just yet.
You probably already know I’m not a full-time writer. I work during the day—a busy job at that—and pour all my spare time into writing. I feel proud just managing to keep the updates consistent (covers face in embarrassment).
So, here I am, shamelessly asking for your first subscription.
No matter what happens, I’ll do my best to finish this book properly. Thank you all for your ongoing support.
Thank you for liking my story.
“My Really Unwilling Pursuit of Stardom” goes live tomorrow. Currently typing, please wait a moment. Once the content is updated, please refresh the page to get the latest chapters!
