Chapter 149 Tell Everything Without Reserve

Once Chu Bing pulled Li Mo Han back, only Li Hao Ran was displeased.
He did not want Chu Bing to notice, yet he forced a smile onto his face.
“Big Brother, you’re taking the carriage?”
Li Mo Han gave him a meaningful look and nodded. “I’m injured. Riding would be inconvenient.”
Li Hao Ran felt the words lodge in his throat. He swallowed them down and squeezed out a smile. “Indeed, that would be inconvenient.”
Chu Bing carefully supported Li Mo Han, her face full of worry. “Of course it would be! What kind of person could kill so many elite soldiers and even injure you?”
Chu Bing remembered how formidable Li Mo Han was. Though he might not match Li Yu Xi, he was still counted among the very best experts in the martial world.
The fact that his opponent had killed hundreds of people and wounded Li Mo Han was enough to show just how terrifyingly powerful that person was.
Could it be Li Yu Xi?
Chu Bing froze as a thought suddenly flashed through her mind.
Li Yu Xi had eaten that marrow-cleansing fruit, and his power had indeed increased. If it was him, it would make sense.
But judging from the conversation between Li Mo Han and Li Yu Xi just now, it seemed that Li Yu Xi had actually rescued him.
What on earth was going on?
Chu Bing could not make sense of the cause-and-effect at all. Her thoughts were a tangled mess.
A flicker of unease crossed Li Hao Ran’s face when he heard her. He forced a smile and said, “That’s why we must report this to Father as soon as possible.”
Before Chu Bing or Li Mo Han could reply, he leaped onto his horse and changed the subject. “We can’t delay any longer, or it’ll be dark. Let’s set off.”
Chu Bing noticed nothing unusual. She helped Li Mo Han into the carriage.
Li Mo Han, however, watched Li Hao Ran’s departing back, a thoughtful glimmer in his eyes.
“What is it?” Chu Bing asked when she saw him staring blankly.
Li Mo Han shook his head, climbed into the carriage, and sat opposite her.
The carriage was very small, and as it moved, their knees frequently brushed against each other.
A trace of shyness crossed Chu Bing’s face. She could not help looking up at Li Mo Han, only to find that the man had already closed his eyes, seemingly resting.
Chu Bing’s lips twitched.
The two of them had unexpectedly reunited in the desert, and she had a bellyful of things she wanted to say to him. Yet Li Mo Han was being completely uncooperative. How could that be acceptable?

Her eyes rolled, and she suddenly reached out with a mischievous smile and poked his eyelid.
The skin beneath her fingertip was warm. Chu Bing could even feel his eye moving beneath it.
Grinning, she edged closer to him and lowered her voice. “I know you’re not asleep. Don’t you have anything you want to say to me?”
The two of them had been separated for quite some time. Could Li Mo Han truly not miss her at all?
“Everything that needed to be said has already been said.” His voice was exceptionally cold.
Chu Bing knew he was referring to her going into town with Li Hao Ran. Whenever she thought of that, she felt guilty.
She gave an awkward laugh and said softly, “I was wrong. Can’t you stop being angry?”
Li Mo Han cast her a淡 look. “You were wrong? You did nothing wrong.”
He knew this little girl too well. Her words sounded agreeable enough, but she probably did not believe she had done anything wrong in the first place.
“I was wrong, I was wrong, Great Master!” Chu Bing timidly raised both hands. “I promise I won’t play with Li Hao Ran anymore!”
From now on, she would simply be a strict teacher, responsible only for teaching Li Hao Ran martial arts. Everything else was none of her concern.
Li Mo Han glanced at her. Without saying whether he believed her, he said indifferently, “Once we return to the manor, stop running around. Things will likely be chaotic for a while.”
Chu Bing opened her mouth, her face full of curiosity. “Why will things be chaotic? Because of the person who injured you?”
A complicated look flashed through Li Mo Han’s eyes, and his voice grew even colder. “Yes. That person may attack me again, so you must not cause me trouble.”
He had only intended to use those words to make Chu Bing stay quietly in the courtyard. Who could have imagined that they would instead stir up entirely different thoughts in her mind?
She wore an indignant expression. “If that person dares show up, I’ll smash his head in!”
She now possessed hundreds of martial arts techniques produced by the system. She had been worrying about not finding anyone to practice on. If that person dared come, she would make sure he never left.
Li Mo Han’s expression became indescribably complicated when he heard this.
She had gone shopping with that very person earlier. They had even joined forces to rescue a group of children.
Bang!
The carriage suddenly lurched, and Chu Bing’s entire body crashed into Li Mo Han’s arms.
“Hiss.” Clutching her forehead, Chu Bing turned pale from the pain.
One of Li Mo Han’s hands tightened around her waist while his other hand instinctively lifted her face. “How is it? Does it hurt?”
There was concern in his voice, though he himself did not seem to notice it.

Rubbing her head, Chu Bing cried out, “It hurts like hell!”
She lifted the curtain and looked outside. “What are you doing? Do you even know how to drive?”
“Miss Chu, are you all right?” Li Hao Ran rode alongside the carriage, his expression taut. “We’re being watched. We still don’t know how many of them there are, so be careful.”
Chu Bing froze. “Who else is following us?”
Hadn’t all those traffickers already been killed?
Li Hao Ran was extremely tense, his wary eyes scanning the surroundings. “I don’t know, but I can confirm that there are quite a few of them, and they are all trained fighters. They’re nothing like the people from that village.”
Otherwise, he would not have been so cautious.
Chu Bing’s heart immediately tightened.
She lowered the curtain and turned to Li Mo Han. “Young Master Li, we’re being watched. Be careful later, and stay inside the carriage. Don’t go out.”
Li Mo Han was injured. She was worried that if he went outside, someone might take advantage of him, and that would be troublesome.
Li Mo Han frowned slightly and stared at her. “Am I truly such a coward in your eyes?”
“No, no!” Chu Bing hurriedly waved her hands. “Don’t say things like that! I’m only worried about you!”
She looked aggrieved. “I try to do something kind, and it gets treated like donkey liver and lungs!”
Li Mo Han had not been angry in the first place. Seeing her like this, he felt a faint discomfort in his heart. He raised a fist to his lips and coughed awkwardly. “All right. Thank you.”
Huh?
He had thanked her?
Chu Bing’s eyes widened slightly as she looked at him. Then she suddenly curled her lips into a smile. “Li Mo Han, I’ve discovered that you have a very strange temper. You never say what you’re thinking and insist on making other people guess!”
The smile on her face was like the warmth of spring, carrying a gentle radiance that seemed to intoxicate the senses. Li Mo Han’s heart, long since frozen cold, stirred with wave after wave of ripples.
Unable to help himself, he reached out and stroked Chu Bing’s hair. His voice was low and indulgent. “You don’t have to guess.”
“If there’s something you want to know, you can ask me directly.”
He would tell her everything he knew, without holding anything back.
Clack.
The moment Li Mo Han finished speaking, a long sword descended from the sky and plunged viciously through the roof of the carriage, nearly piercing both Chu Bing and his head.
