Now for a little mischief—a classic scene excerpted from an animated series~~~

“Tianyu, Tianyu... little brother Tianyu, are you still alive? It’s time to wake up.” Leaning close to Dragon Tianyu’s ear, Leng Bingyan whispered softly. The boy on the bed stirred, turning over, his eyes hazy as he looked at Leng Bingyan nearby. “Ah... is it morning already?” Dragon Tianyu yawned, half asleep as he asked.

“Yes, you’ve been asleep for a hundred years,” Leng Bingyan answered quietly, his eyes sincere, not in the least like he was lying.

“A hundred years? Then aren’t you basically dead?” Dragon Tianyu’s eyes widened in surprise. Seeing this, Leng Bingyan knew he was still half asleep, but a faint smile curved his lips—this was perfect, just the right moment to tease him. “Right now, I’m just a hologram, not the real me.”

“Really?” Dragon Tianyu looked a bit confused.

“Yes, a hundred years ago, you fell off your bed and hit your head while sleeping. That’s why you’ve been in a deep sleep for a century.” With a serious expression and a convincing tone, Leng Bingyan continued, “This place is a world a hundred years from now.”

“Wait, then... what’s the world like now?” Dragon Tianyu asked anxiously.

“Destroyed.”

“Really?” Dragon Tianyu froze, sitting silently on the bed. Then, folding his hands as if in prayer, he whispered, “Dad, I’m sorry! I was so reckless until the very end, I truly apologize! Sister, I didn’t take good care of you—sorry!” Then, his gaze grew firm, as if transformed. He spoke solemnly, “But don’t worry, I will survive on my own, strong and unyielding.”

Leng Bingyan watched nervously, beads of cold sweat forming. “This... this Tianyu is way too gullible, isn’t he?” Suddenly kicking Dragon Tianyu’s leg with a fierce expression, he said, “Hey, time to get up!”

“Ah! I got kicked by a hologram!” Dragon Tianyu was startled, panicking. “You—you’re real, aren’t you?”

“Well, actually, I’m... a cyborg.” Leng Bingyan was speechless. “Have you lost your mind or something?” he thought with some concern.

“So the world really is destroyed?”

“Yes, really!”

“Really?” Dragon Tianyu gasped again, then clasped his hands in prayer once more. “Dad, I’m sorry! I was so reckless until the end, I’m truly sorry! Sister, I didn’t take good care of you—sorry! I will join forces with Bingyan the cyborg and survive together.”

“You’re really easy to fool!” Leng Bingyan was utterly speechless. This little kid...

“What? Was everything you just said a lie?” Suddenly hearing this from Leng Bingyan, Dragon Tianyu asked in surprise.

“Didn’t you already believe me? I was just playing a little joke.” Leng Bingyan said with an innocent look.

“I was half asleep, of course I believed it!” Dragon Tianyu realized he had been tricked, then shouted angrily.

“Hey, are you listening? I won’t let you off!” Feeling trouble brewing, Leng Bingyan quietly slipped toward the door while Dragon Tianyu wasn’t looking. “Bang!” He slammed the door and ran out as fast as he could.

Leng Bingyan knew what kind of consequences he’d face for offending Dragon Tianyu. Looking at their height difference, he muttered inwardly, “How come he’s so tall even though he’s just a year older? Strange. I wish he’d share some of it with me.” He didn’t want to use his powers—if he did, even a hundred or a thousand Dragon Tianyus wouldn’t stand a chance. The reason he refrained was purely psychological; he just wanted to live a simple, peaceful life.

“If you’ve got the guts, don’t run!” Dragon Tianyu’s angry shout rang from behind. Leng Bingyan stuck out his tongue in triumph, “You wanna fight me? You’re not even old enough to be my brother yet.”

Seeing Dragon Tianyu about to leave his bedroom, Leng Bingyan thought better of it and decided to retreat, opening the apartment door to step outside.

“Ah, it’s you!” Bingyan exclaimed in surprise. Standing at the door was a beautiful young woman, with long flowing hair, fair cheeks, and large expressive eyes—it was his god-sister, Ling Xin’er.

Ling Xin’er was a sophomore at QH University, in a different major and naturally not in the same class as Bingyan.

“What ‘ah’ what? Call me sister and hurry up and let me in.” Ling Xin’er urged impatiently. But Bingyan wasn’t about to let her in—he was busy escaping! And it was obvious why she was here: to find him. So, without hesitation, he grabbed her hand and ran outside.

As for Ling Xin’er, Bingyan wasn’t sure if knowing her was a blessing or a curse. She was indeed very beautiful, ranked among the top ten beauties at QH University, adored by many male students. She was also the president of the student council—a position she earned purely through her own talent and not connections. In short, she was a rare prodigy.

But Bingyan, who knew her well, understood that beneath her glamorous exterior lurked a devilish spirit—a mischievous witch who loved to tease others. Unfortunately for Bingyan, he was the one she loved to torment most.

Why she took such delight in teasing Bingyan, even she probably couldn’t explain. Whenever Bingyan asked seriously, she would grin slyly like a cunning fox and say, “Just for fun.”

Having been teased so often, Bingyan no longer minded much, and their relationship truly felt like that of real siblings.

Hand in hand, the two dashed away...

“Running this far, they probably won’t chase us anymore.” After sprinting two blocks, they finally stopped. Bingyan thought, “Tianyu’s persistence can’t be that strong, right?”

“What exactly... is going on?” Ling Xin’er panted heavily, originally intending to have fun with Bingyan, but hadn’t even gotten inside before a long run. “Hey, Bingyan... why aren’t you panting at all? After all this running, I’m about to collapse, but you’re like nothing happened?”

“Ahem... cough... I’m just a bit slower than others,” Bingyan feigned a series of coughs, careful not to reveal anything. “Can’t very well tell her I possess unmatched power, can I?”

“You haven’t told me why you dragged me running all this way. If you don’t give me a good reason, hmmph...” Ling Xin’er suddenly showed a rare bratty side in front of others. Bingyan gave a dry smile—dodged one danger only to walk into another. Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

“What excuse should I make?” Bingyan’s mind raced, then an idea struck him. Leaning close to Ling Xin’er’s ear, he whispered, “Alright, I’ll tell you the truth, but you have to promise not to tell a third person.”

Ling Xin’er, intrigued by Bingyan’s mysterious tone, couldn’t keep a secret to save her life. She thought, “If I don’t tell a third person, maybe telling a fourth, fifth, and sixth is okay, hehe... I’m so clever.” Resolving this, she said eagerly, “Okay, tell me. I definitely won’t tell a third person.”

“Well... you know how Dragon Tianyu always asked me to practice basketball with him? Actually, that was just an excuse.”

“An excuse?” Ling Xin’er looked puzzled.

“Yes, an excuse! A reason for wanting to be with me.” Bingyan said proudly, pleased with his lie. “Tianyu, what are you going to do now? Heh heh...”

“To be with you? What do you mean?”

“He likes me, he loves me!” Bingyan blurted, stunning Ling Xin’er as if a thunderclap shattered a clear sky. “This... this is huge news! If the whole school knew their idol liked guys, then... no wonder Tianyu is so handsome yet has no girlfriend. Now the campus paper has a big scoop for the next issue!”

If Bingyan had known what was really on the witch’s mind, he would have deeply regretted it. But he didn’t, so he went on, “Lately, I’ve been ignoring him, so that loneliness built up and made him take action.” Then pretending to be troubled, “Sigh... if you think about it, he’s actually a pitiful guy! Older than me, and as the big brother, I just can’t bear to hurt his feelings. But I really can’t accept those feelings!”

“If that’s the case, you should seriously consider his feelings. If you liked him too, I wouldn’t oppose it.”

“But unfortunately, there’s no way I could fall for a guy.” Bingyan said regretfully, as if blaming himself for hurting an innocent boy’s heart. Then, suddenly serious, “So it’s better if he gives up early, for his own good.” But inwardly he thought: The one he likes is actually you, sister! Hehe~~

“I see. Bingyan, you truly are my brother—so kind! Alright, I’ll help you deal with this and make Tianyu give up on you.” Ling Xin’er said generously.

“Oh, thanks, Sister Xin’er.” Bingyan wiped the sweat from his forehead. “Why do I always end up lying? It’s a bad habit—I must change it next time! But at least I avoided the witch’s wrath and managed to frame Tianyu. I’m really talented.” In the end, it became his own self-praise.

Suddenly, someone hurried over from afar, kicking up a cloud of dust...

Bingyan was shocked—it was Dragon Tianyu. He thought, when did this guy get so persistent to chase him two blocks? Before he could react, Tianyu was by his side, panting, “Finally... finally caught up. Bingyan, why did you run? That’s so cold!”

“Dummy, do you expect me not to run and let you teach me a lesson?” Watching Tianyu raise his hand to strike, Bingyan thought contemptuously. Just as he was about to answer, Ling Xin’er suddenly grabbed Tianyu’s outstretched hand—maybe an instinctive reaction to keep him from touching Bingyan. After all, she knew how deeply Tianyu felt for Bingyan! Realizing she stood between them, Ling Xin’er felt embarrassed: “Why was I so impulsive?” But since the situation was set, she spoke up, “Well, about that thing... Bingyan doesn’t agree, and it’s not really good anyway.”

“Why? Don’t you know how close Bingyan and I are?” Tianyu asked, puzzled. He thought, “We’re just playing around—it shouldn’t matter.”

“No!” Ling Xin’er said firmly. “Even if you’re close, there’s a line you mustn’t cross.”

“No matter what, I need Bingyan! I can’t do without him!” After all, who else would he bully? Fang Yanbin? Forget it—don’t be fooled by that guy’s weak appearance; he’s actually a formidable fighter.

“No! Because...” Ling Xin’er thought, since Bingyan is her recognized little brother, she must take good care of him. She intended to help solve this problem for him. Suddenly an idea came to her, though it was a bit embarrassing to say. With determination, she said loudly, “Because Bingyan is actually my boyfriend! So I can’t let Tianyu have him.”

“You...” Hearing this, Bingyan was stunned at first, then quickly realized Ling Xin’er was helping him. A warm feeling filled his heart. “She really is a good sister, willing to set aside a girl’s pride for me.” But then a troubled expression returned. “But doesn’t this make things worse? This is serious.”

As expected, Tianyu froze after hearing Ling Xin’er’s words, then reacted violently, shouting, “When... when did you two start?” Without waiting for an answer, he cursed, pushed them aside, and ran off in tears...

“Um, did I go too far just now? I just wanted to help him get over it quickly, better a short pain than a long one...” Ling Xin’er explained, feeling guilty seeing Tianyu so upset.

Leng Bingyan nodded—of course it was too much. Ling Xin’er might not know, but he did: Dragon Tianyu had secretly been in love with Ling Xin’er all along, so this misunderstanding only made things worse.

Bingyan had no idea that when he returned home, he’d face the harshest punishments the Qing dynasty could offer.
