“Let the battle begin.”
“Go, Beartic. Use Blizzard.”
“Beartic!”
Beartic unleashed Blizzard, sending a massive wave of snow toward Gothita.

Gothita flew into the air and evaded the attack.

Gothita continued darting about, avoiding the snowstorm.

The Blizzard suddenly expanded, sweeping across a wide area toward Gothita.
“Gothita, use Psychic!”
Gothita used Psychic to protect herself, preventing the Blizzard from touching her.
“Beartic, use Ice Punch!”
Beartic suddenly charged forward and swung an Ice Punch.
“Use Feint!”
Gothita swayed aside, dodging the Ice Punch, then drove a fist into Beartic’s body. Beartic crashed to the ground.
“Gothita, use Shadow Ball!”
“Beartic, block it!”
Beartic blocked the Shadow Ball.
“Beartic, use Icicle Crash!”
A great number of icicles appeared above Gothita and rapidly fell toward her.
“Gothita, Double Slap!”
Gothita slapped away every icicle that came at her, escaping unharmed.
“Use Brine!”
Gothita was still batting away the icicles and failed to evade the Brine. The blast struck her head-on and sent her skidding away.
“Gothita, Shadow Ball!”
“Gothita!”
The Shadow Ball flew toward Beartic.
“Beartic, Ice Punch!”
The Ice Punch struck the Shadow Ball, freezing it solid before shattering it into pieces.
“Icicle Crash!”
“Gothita, use Psychic!”
Gothita used Psychic to seize control of every icicle, then sent the frozen shards hurtling toward Beartic.
“Beartic, Fury Swipes!”
Beartic used Fury Swipes to smash apart the incoming icicles, then caught two of them and leaped into the air.
Clutching the icicles, Beartic charged straight toward Gothita.
“Gothita, use Shadow Ball!”
“Gothita!”
Gothita fired the Shadow Ball.
Beartic blocked it with the icicle in one hand, then swung the icicle in his other hand at Gothita. The blow sent her crashing to the ground.
At the same time, the Shadow Ball shattered the icicle and struck Beartic directly. Both Pokémon collapsed.
“Come on, Gothita! Get up!”
Gothita slowly rose to her feet, while Beartic also managed to stand. With Beartic’s formidable defense, he had been able to withstand the previous attacks.
“Beartic, use Icy Wind!”
A freezing wind swept across the field, dealing some damage to Gothita.
Gothita was in terrible condition now and was barely hanging on.
“Evolve, Gothita!”
“Gothita!”
Gothita began to shine with the light of evolution. Before long, she successfully evolved into Gothorita.
“Damn it! Why did she have to evolve now?”
Muzhi was somewhat exasperated, but the battle still had to continue.
“Gothorita, Psyshock!”
“Gothita!”
Gothita’s Psyshock struck Beartic successfully.
“Beartic, use Endure!”
Beartic endured the attack.
“Beartic, use Flail!”
Gothorita’s Psyshock had left Beartic somewhat disoriented. He charged forward without hesitation.
“Gothorita, Shadow Ball!”
Beartic neither dodged nor defended himself. The Shadow Ball struck his body, but he continued charging forward and punched Gothorita squarely in the body. She fell to the ground, unable to battle.
At that moment, Beartic recovered his balance, only to collapse as well.
“Beartic and Gothorita are both unable to battle. Both sides, send out your next Pokémon.”

Thunderbolt would have been highly effective against Charizard, but Charizard dodged it.
“Charizard, use Dragon Claw!”
Charizard rushed forward and unleashed Dragon Claw.
“Mr. Mime, use Mega Punch!”
Dragon Claw and Mega Punch collided, sending both Pokémon flying backward.
“Charizard, Flamethrower again!”
“Mr. Mime, use Psychic!”
Mr. Mime used Psychic to hold back the flames, escaping unharmed.
“Charizard, use Wing Attack!”
Charizard flew rapidly toward him, preparing to strike with Wing Attack.
“Use Thunderbolt!”
As Charizard came rushing in, Mr. Mime unleashed Thunderbolt.
“Charizard!”
Charizard abruptly changed direction and evaded the attack.
“Charizard, use Seismic Toss!”
Suddenly, Charizard charged in and seized Mr. Mime.
He lifted Mr. Mime into the air and rapidly carried him high above the battlefield. After spinning twice, Charizard hurled him downward with Seismic Toss.
“Mr. Mime, Psychic!”
Mr. Mime used Psychic, but he could not break free. Instead, he took control of Charizard and forced him beneath himself.
The two Pokémon slammed into the ground at the same time, but Charizard was underneath and suffered far more damage.
“Charizard, fly!”
Charizard beat his wings and took flight once more.
“Mr. Mime, use Barrier!”
Mr. Mime created another Barrier, rapidly surrounding himself with it.
“Charizard, use Flamethrower!”
The Flamethrower struck the Barrier, but the wall completely blocked the flames.
“Keep using Flamethrower. Roast him inside!”
The Flamethrower continued pouring out without pause, and the temperature inside the Barrier grew hotter and hotter. Mr. Mime was nearly unable to bear it.
“Hang in there, Mr. Mime!”
Mr. Mime endured the intense heat and continued creating more Barriers inside the first one, until there was no room left within.
“Now, Mr. Mime! Use Psychic!”
“Mime!”
Suddenly, every Barrier rose into the air and merged into one enormous wall, blocking Charizard’s Flamethrower. Then all the Barriers flew toward Charizard.
“Charizard, run!”
Charizard quickly took flight and dodged the incoming Barriers. Yet under Mr. Mime’s Psychic control, the Barriers continued pursuing him. They surrounded Charizard from every direction and struck him simultaneously.
“Use Dragon Claw!”
Charizard repeatedly smashed the incoming Barriers with Dragon Claw. Even when he knocked them away, they soon came flying back at him. Moreover, every Barrier he shattered broke into multiple fragments, causing him further injury.
“Charizard, use Giga Impact!”
Charizard staked everything on one final attack and charged toward Mr. Mime with Giga Impact.
“Mr. Mime, block it!”
Mr. Mime recalled every Barrier and summoned them all in front of himself. Charizard crashed into the walls, carrying them along as he slammed into Mr. Mime.
Mr. Mime was sent flying and fell to the ground, unable to battle.
“Mr. Mime is unable to battle. Charizard is the winner!”
After the victory was announced, Charizard ran out of strength as well and collapsed.
“Come back, Charizard. You did well.”
“Cheng Cheng, I didn’t expect us to be down to only one Pokémon each. Let’s settle this once and for all.”
“I still have several Pokémon.”
“Those others of yours barely have any fighting power left. Let’s decide the winner in one final battle.”
“Then what was the point of the battles before this?”
“One sentence: Are you in or not?”
“Of course I am.”
Cheng Cheng knew that everything before this had merely been a warm-up. The true battle, the one that would finally decide the winner, was about to begin.

“Go, Gardevoir!”
Gardevoir and Dragonite appeared on the battlefield at the same time.
Cheng Cheng had no way to make Gardevoir Mega Evolve, but he still possessed a hidden trump card. His opponent was the mighty Dragonite, so he focused every ounce of his concentration on the battle.
