Upon arriving in Fanba City, Cheng Cheng asked Mu Zi to retrieve her Hakuron. When she brought it back, they discovered it had evolved into a Dragonite.

“Dragonite! You’ve evolved into Dragonite—this is fantastic!” Mu Zi lay atop Dragonite, gently stroking its scales.

“I didn’t expect it to evolve into Dragonite; this means we’re much safer from now on.”

“Safer, Cheng Cheng? What exactly is going to happen next?”

“There’s a very important event about to take place. Originally, I didn’t want you to be involved because it’s extremely dangerous. But now that your Hakuron has evolved into Dragonite, it at least has a chance to survive.”

“Are you going on an expedition, then?”

“Expedition, you could say, but it’s more than just that.”

Cheng Cheng stared out at the sky, sensing a powerful force drawing near.

“Miss Joy, could you please help me check the Pokémon?” he called out.

At that moment, a familiar voice reached his ears—they had arrived.

“Oh? Cheng Cheng. What are you doing here?” Ash and his companions approached.

“Mu Zi, what are you doing here?” Cheng Cheng asked.

“Alice, it’s been a long time,” Mu Zi greeted warmly.

The three looked at Alice and Mu Zi, surprised that the two of them knew each other. Cheng Cheng realized it made sense—they both hailed from the Dragon Region.

“Cheng Cheng, this is Alice and Tian Tong. These are my traveling companions,” Ash introduced.

“Hello,” Cheng Cheng greeted.

“Hi,” they replied in unison.

“This is my companion, Mu Zi.”

“Nice to meet you, Ash, Tian Tong,” Mu Zi said politely.

“By the way, Alice, how do you two know each other?” Ash inquired.

“We’re both from the Dragon Region. Mu Zi and I used to play together when we were kids.”

“I see.”

“So, Cheng Cheng, have you managed to resolve your matters?” Ash asked eagerly.

“Almost. I’ve earned seven badges now. Just one more, and I’ll qualify to participate in the league tournament.”

“That fast? I’ve only got four badges so far. Your speed is incredible.”

“It’s not that fast. I just went straight from gym to gym without wasting any time.”

“Speaking of which, Ash, have you challenged the Fanba City gym yet?”

“Not yet. Leader Ju said I have to obtain a Revive Herb before I can battle him.”

“Revive Herb? Although it’s precious, it should be easy to buy, right?”

“But all the Revive Herbs nearby have been sold out. There’s apparently trouble on Sanyun Island. We’re planning to check it out.”

“Sanyun Island? The legendary island?” Mu Zi’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

“Yes, the legendary island. It’s said that three legendary Pokémon dwell there: Raidenyun, Tudiyun, and Longjuanyun. They control thunder, earth, and storms respectively—very powerful Pokémon.”

“Cheng Cheng, why don’t we go to Sanyun Island too? Maybe we’ll encounter those legendary Pokémon.”

“Of course. In fact, my destination this time is Sanyun Island.”

Soon, the five boarded a ship bound for Sanyun Island. After sailing for a while, an island appeared on the horizon.

From afar, Cheng Cheng spotted a figure approaching them.

“Hello, are you Yute?”

“Yes, I’m Yute. Who are you?”

“I’m Ash, and these are my companions.”

“Hello, I’m Tian Tong.”

“I’m Alice.”

“I’m Mu Zi.”

“Cheng Cheng.”

“Hello. What brings you here?”

“We’re searching for Revive Herb.”

“I see. It’s nearly dark now. Come with me to my cabin.”

After another half hour’s walk, they reached a wooden cabin.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t give you any Revive Herb right now.”

“Why not?”

“Because Miss Qun’er, who helps find the Revive Herb, is sick.”

Inside the room lay a Pokémon on the bed, looking very weak.

Cheng Cheng used his psychic abilities to assess its condition. The energy inside Miss Qun’er’s body was chaotic and extremely feeble.

“Not only Miss Qun’er, but the other Pokémon on this island have also fallen into a weakened state.”

“Why is that?”

“The land has become barren. This morning, I finally found a Revive Herb, but it was withered. The soil is infertile now and can no longer nurture Revive Herb.”

Tudiyun then subdued Raidenyun and Longjuanyun and restored fertility to the land. Since then, peace returned.”

“Wow, so those three Pokémon really exist. That’s amazing.”

“How can we get the Revive Herb?”

“Tomorrow, I plan to hold a ceremony, hoping to bring rain. That should help alleviate the situation.”

“Can we join the ceremony tomorrow?”

Suddenly, a Pokémon crawled in through the window—a Gothorita.

“Gothorita, you’re back.”

“It’s my other companion, Gothorita. Legend says Gothorita communicates with Tudiyun, so it’s also needed for tomorrow’s ceremony.”

“All right, everyone, rest early tonight. Tomorrow we’ll head to Tudiyun’s monument for the ceremony.”

The cabin was small. Including Yute, there were six people in total. They laid down mats on the floor to sleep.

Early the next morning, they gathered their things and set out for Tudiyun’s monument.

At the monument, they placed some dry grass on the ground and lit it.

“Gothorita, please.”

“Gothorita,” the Pokémon closed its eyes and released its power to communicate with Tudiyun. Smoke gathered, and a Pokémon appeared before them.

However, it was not Tudiyun they expected, but Longjuanyun.

“Longjuanyun? How is this possible?”

Yute was shocked. He had summoned Tudiyun, not Longjuanyun.

“Longjuanyun!”

The furious Longjuanyun launched a Wind Blade attack straight at them.

“Gardevoir, use Protect!”

Gardevoir blocked the attack.

Cheng Cheng had anticipated trouble and sent Gardevoir out early.

“Everyone, prepare your Pokémon for battle.”

“Longjuanyun!”

Longjuanyun aggressively attacked, swinging its body and firing energy balls at them.

“Gardevoir, Shadow Ball!”

“Pikachu, Electro Ball!”

“Gible, Dragon Rage!”

“Gothorita, Shadow Ball!”

Each launched their attacks, fending off Longjuanyun’s assault.

“What’s going on? Why is Longjuanyun here? It shouldn’t be on the island.”

“Isn’t Longjuanyun supposed to live on Sanyun Island?”

“No. After Tudiyun subdued Longjuanyun and Raidenyun, two stone monuments were erected at one side of the island. Since then, Longjuanyun and Raidenyun could no longer enter. If Longjuanyun is here now, one of the monuments must have been damaged. I have to check.”

Yute dashed toward the monument, but Longjuanyun blocked his path with Wind Blade.

Ash and the others followed Yute toward the monument, leaving Cheng Cheng and Mu Zi behind.

“Then I guess I’m doomed here,” Cheng Cheng said with a wry smile.

“Serves you right.”

“Come on, Dragonite.”

“No wonder you wanted me to bring Dragonite. You must have expected this.”

“Not at all—I just sensed danger.”

“Yeah, right.”
