Chapter 133: The Future Chief Financial Officer
It was only 7:30 PM when the Rolls-Royce reached the XX residential complex in H City. Chen Xian stepped out of the car and looked up at the light shining from the windows of his home on the twelfth floor, a wave of warmth washing over him.
He went upstairs and gave the doorbell a gentle tap. The door opened to reveal his father, who stared blankly for a moment before a look of kind, fatherly joy broke across his face. "Xian, it’s been so long since you’ve been home! Come in, come in. Mother, look, Xian is back!"
Chen Xian walked inside to see his mother, who had been working on stitching a shoe sole, immediately drop her tools and stand up.
"Mom!" Chen Xian greeted.
"Xian, you should have told me you were coming back so I could have bought a farm-raised chicken to stew for you. Look how thin you’ve become!" his mother grumbled. "Don't go anywhere tomorrow; stay home. I’ll go buy a chicken and make sure you get properly nourished."
Chen Xian nodded; it had indeed been a long time since he had returned home to spend time with his parents and younger sister.
"Brother, you're back!" A beautiful face peeked out from one of the rooms—it was his sister, Chen Nizi. She had heard the commotion and opened her door to investigate.
"Nizi, come here," Chen Xian said with a smile, beckoning the young girl over.
Chen Nizi sat down on the sofa, eyeing the briefcase in her brother's hand. "Brother, do you have a gift for me?"
"I do."
Chen Xian nodded. Under the curious gazes of his parents and sister, he opened the case to reveal fifteen bottles of Spirit Water. "Mom, Dad, Nizi, this is Spirit Water. It contains various special nutrients that are very beneficial to your health. There are fifteen bottles here—five for each of you. Given your current physical condition, don't drink too much; one-fifth of a bottle a day is plenty."
"Xian, this Spirit Water must be very expensive, right?" his mother asked first.
Chen Xian chuckled. "Not at all, Mom. It’s a health supplement produced by our company, so the cost price is very low. You, Dad, and Nizi should drink it without worry. Just make sure to stick with it, and when you run out, I'll bring you more."
He couldn't possibly tell them that each bottle cost 200,000, and that was just the factory price—on the market, they were worth at least a million per bottle. If his mother knew the true value, she would never touch a drop.
"Try a sip," he urged.
Under Chen Xian’s supervision, his father, mother, and sister each took their first sip of the Spirit Water. A look of sheer shock appeared on all three of their faces.
"Wow, Brother, this Spirit Water is amazing! I feel so comfortable, as if every pore in my body has opened up to breathe freely," Chen Nizi exclaimed. His parents also praised the quality of the water.
Chen Xian smiled, saying nothing.
"Brother, come into my room. I have something to tell you," Chen Nizi said after capping her bottle and setting it aside.
Chen Xian nodded and followed her. Nizi opened her computer with an air of mystery and teased, "Brother, guess what I want to tell you?" She had bought the computer herself.
"It’s about the stocks, isn't it? You must have made some money," Chen Xian said with a smile.
Chen Nizi pouted, "Ugh, you’re so annoying! How come I can't keep anything from you?"
She pulled up the stock trading interface, which showed a market value of 12 million. With a proud, haughty expression, she said, "Brother, look! Am I amazing or what? Does this make me the reincarnation of a stock god?!"
Chen Xian was startled to see the figure. It had only been a few months since he gave his sister 1 million, and she had turned it into 12 million. The speed of her earnings was staggering.
"Incredible!" Chen Xian couldn't help but give her a thumbs up. "You really are amazing, my stock god sister!"
"Hehe, Brother, I'll pay back that 1 million tomorrow, plus another 1 million in interest," she said, radiating pride.
Chen Xian shook his head. "No need, sister. That 1 million is just pocket change to me. Since you have such a talent for finance, I’ll add another billion for you to invest on my behalf. As long as you do well, I’ll keep adding more."
Chen Nizi froze. A billion—it was an astronomical figure she couldn't even begin to fathom.
"What? Are you scared?" Seeing her stunned expression, Chen Xian smiled. "That doesn't sound like the fearless Chen Nizi I know!"
"Who says I'm scared? It's just a billion. I guarantee it'll be 2 billion in three months!" Provoked by her brother, her beautiful face flushed slightly. "I am the Han Xin of the financial markets! Like the general who led his troops, the more I have, the better. No matter how much money you give me, I will manage it well and ensure it keeps growing."
"Good! That’s my sister, Chen Nizi. To be born human, one should have such ambition and high aspirations!" Chen Xian patted her shoulder in praise.
That night, Chen Xian called Ma Tian and had him transfer 1 billion to his sister’s account. From this moment on, he began training his sister. Giving her a billion was both a test and an exercise; even if she lost it all, Chen Xian wouldn't mind.
He would treat it as the cost of gaining experience. Eventually, he intended to groom Chen Nizi to be his Chief Financial Officer—his right-hand woman.
Chen Xian stayed at home until the next afternoon before departing in his Rolls-Royce for M City. The jade auction was about to begin, and he couldn't afford any more delays; he needed to deliver the jade.
...
As dusk began to fall, Chen Xian arrived at the Ma Corporation building. In the office, he lifted his hand and focused his mind. With a flash of dark light from his storage ring, pieces of jade flew out one after another, landing on the floor and lining up until the vast office floor was completely covered.
As for the two pieces of jade containing dense spiritual energy, he naturally wouldn't put those up for auction. Such treasures were rare and impossible to come by.
*Knock, knock, knock.*
Just as he finished, a knock came at the door. "Come in," he said.
Ma Tian and Ma He entered, only to stop dead in their tracks. Seeing the hundreds of pieces of jade scattered across the floor, shimmering with an enchanting luster like stars fallen from the night sky, their eyes widened in disbelief.
Although they had heard Master Chen mention that he possessed jade worth over 8 billion dollars, seeing it spread across the floor still left them deeply shaken. Moreover, as men who had studied jade, they could tell at a glance that the quality of these hundreds of pieces was excellent, with nearly a hundred being rare, top-tier treasures.
"Master Chen, are... are these your jade pieces?" Ma Tian asked, his voice trembling as he regained his composure.
Chen Xian nodded.
Ma He suppressed his excitement and said, "Master Chen, this batch of jade will surely fetch a sky-high price tomorrow!"
