Chapter 163: Picking Up at the Airport

An Tong sat quietly in the study, coding, when suddenly she found herself an unintended casualty, like a fish caught in a net.
Xiao Mingyu turned to leave, but after a few steps, he paused and glanced back. "I heard Ninth Brother is arriving home early tomorrow morning. We won’t disturb your time together. We’ll be off now."
Before An Tong could respond, his figure disappeared at the stairwell.
She tugged at the corner of her mouth, unlocked her phone, and sent a WeChat message to Rong Shen.

No words accompanied it, just a sticker of a Samoyed dog by the window, eyes brimming with tears and filled with heartfelt grievance.
...
At half past three in the morning the next day, An Tong drove the Porsche Cayenne from the garage to the airport.
Of course, she hadn’t told Rong Shen she planned to pick him up.
During their video call before bed last night, she said she’d be waiting at home.
Let’s just say… it was meant to be a surprise.
The airport at four in the morning was quiet and empty.
Gone was the daytime bustle, replaced only by a few scattered travelers resting on benches.
An Tong wandered the airport hall a few times. According to the flight information screens, there were no direct flights from the Swiss Federation to Zhanzhou.
She recalled he had previously taken a business chartered flight; presumably, the return trip would be the same.
After asking at the information desk, she left the arrival hall.
At half past five, Rong Shen emerged from the VIP entrance with Cheng Feng. Perhaps wary of An Tong’s usual “surface compliance, hidden defiance,” Rong Shen glanced around as they walked.
But the VIP arrival corridor was sparsely populated—one could see right to the end.
Rong Shen looked somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected the young lady to genuinely stay home and sleep.
Realizing his thoughts, a faint smile curved his lips but quickly faded.
Soon, Rong Shen and Cheng Feng headed to the parking garage.
The vast underground lot wasn’t brightly lit. Cheng Feng puffed on his breath, searching for the car, unable to recall exactly which zone he had parked in.
Meanwhile, the man had just crossed the bridge between the terminal and parking garage and slowed his pace.
At the first row of parking spaces to the right of the entrance, a slender figure leaned against the hood, engrossed in her phone.
She wore a dark blue, lightweight down jacket, her slender frame not bulky. Resting her lower back against the car, wisps of hair naturally framed her face—a serene and gentle presence.

Cheng Feng had walked several meters ahead but, noticing no footsteps behind, turned back with an awkward smile. “Master Ninth, why don’t you wait here a moment? I’ll find the car and come get you.”
Forgetting the parking spot number was a disgrace in Cheng Feng’s career.
But indeed, he only vaguely remembered whether it was Zone B or C.
“No need. You go ahead. Take the day off today and go to the office tomorrow.”
Yawning drowsily, Cheng Feng noticed the man’s steady gaze fixed on the right front.
Rubbing his eyes suspiciously, he quietly turned back to continue the search.
Meanwhile, An Tong was deeply focused on her game, as concentrating helped stave off sleepiness.
Hearing voices from afar, she glanced up and smiled softly, eyes gently curved.
About ten meters away, a strikingly handsome man stood still, his black coat with a raised collar revealing a white shirt beneath, the top two buttons undone—an effortless, elegant sight.
The game unfinished, An Tong turned off her screen and, hands clasped behind her back, strolled deliberately toward the man.
As she walked, she wondered whether to throw herself into his arms for a hug or—
Before she could decide, her body had already made the choice.
Increasing her pace until a light jog, her ponytail swayed in the air. Within seconds, the distance between them was less than half a step.
As the girl leapt into the man’s embrace, passing strangers nearby smiled knowingly.
Airport farewells and reunions always drew attention and stirred emotions.
An Tong’s arms wrapped around Rong Shen’s neck, feeling him step back two paces under her momentum but still catch her steadily.
The familiar scent drifted to her nose as she lifted her feet off the ground, burying her face in the hollow of his neck, practically hanging on him.
“Didn’t I tell you to wait at home? You got up so early to pick me up without a word. Aren’t you afraid of missing me?”
The man’s strong arms encircled her tightly, leaning down to kiss her temple. His tone was a mix of helplessness and indulgent affection.
Tilting her head, An Tong pecked his neck. “That’s why I waited right here at the parking entrance. As soon as you walked in, you’d see me.”
When he and Cheng Feng went to the airport earlier, they drove off in the business vehicle.
No one had driven it back to the villa, so she knew then the car must be parked at the airport.
An Tong leaned back slightly, a bright smile illuminating her face.
A faint smile tugged at the corners of the man’s lips. His deep, dark eyes locked onto her, voice low and husky, “What time did you get up?”
“Left the house at three thirty,” she replied, loosening her arms and stepping down from his embrace, tilting her head with a smile. “I just wanted to surprise you.”

Rong Shen’s Adam’s apple moved up and down. Holding her face gently, he leaned down and kissed her lips softly several times. “Great idea.”
“Since it’s a surprise, I couldn’t tell you beforehand.”
An Tong suppressed a smile, eyes sparkling with unhidden joy.
Even without experience in love, creating surprises for a partner was something almost instinctual.
Soon, they reached the Porsche Cayenne.
Rong Shen carried no luggage, only a briefcase-like bag.
He casually placed the bag on the backseat and opened the driver’s door, ready to get in.
“I’ll drive,” An Tong said, one hand on the door frame, the other gripping his wrist. “You’ve been on a plane for over ten hours. You must be tired. Let me drive.”
Seeing her determined expression, he ruffled her hair and whispered, “You can rest on the plane. It’s not like you can’t drive.”
An Tong fell silent, locking eyes with him calmly.
Three seconds later, he relented first, turning aside. “Alright, you drive. Let’s go.”
Satisfied, An Tong slid into the driver’s seat and closed the door. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught him walking around the front of the car to the passenger side. Her lips curled into an unstoppable smile.
Rong Shen climbed in just as An Tong fastened her seatbelt.
Hearing the door close, she looked up and smiled, unaware that the handsome face suddenly leaning in left her momentarily speechless.
Earlier in the parking lot, though Rong Shen was eager, he had to hold back his emotions.
The girl was shy and sensitive; public displays of affection were beyond her comfort zone.
Now inside the car, the intoxicating impulse could no longer be restrained—or even desired.
One hand cupped the back of An Tong’s neck, lips pressing deeply against hers.
Still fastening her seatbelt, An Tong instinctively returned the kiss.
No wonder they say absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Five days apart, their reunion kiss carried a deeper, more lingering passion than ever before.
The car’s interior grew warmer with their embrace, hinting at an unstoppable momentum.
