Chapter 33: Old Huang Has Manifested! The Glistening Battle Nun

This time, when they destroyed the hive ship tendril, they did not even leave the vessel to launch a boarding assault. They never had to face those dangerous creatures!
Under the radiance of the Emperor’s miracle, they had achieved victory!
Everyone inside the cabin was extraordinarily excited.
“It’s simply incredible! We actually destroyed the hive ship tendril in this manner!” the company commander of the polar warriors exclaimed.
After being blessed by the Emperor, this massive machine had gained the ability to destroy a hive ship tendril all by itself. It seemed as though this battle had nothing to do with them anymore!
“This divine machine has been blessed by the Emperor! With it, we will certainly be able to destroy the four hive ships in outer space,” the Canoness declared.
At that moment, she even believed that the man before her, who claimed to be half a primarch, was one of the Emperor’s chosen.
Otherwise, there was simply no way to explain some of what had happened!
Those successive bursts of golden light clearly could not have been released by an ordinary human.
And this man was not a psyker. The arrival of the Tyranid swarm generated an incomparably powerful shadow in the Warp, suppressing the strength of psykers.
More importantly, even the most powerful psyker could not fundamentally alter the structure of a divine mechanical Titan and make its combat power vastly stronger.
Anyone with eyes could see that after those two bursts of golden light, the Titan they were riding had undergone an enormous transformation.
There was no longer any need to doubt it!
Lord Rhodes, you truly are one of the Emperor’s chosen!
“There are still two hive tendrils left. We must deal with them quickly, then head into outer space,” Rhodes said.
Earlier, he had still been wondering how he was going to explain King Joe’s sudden increase in strength. Now, everything could simply be attributed to an Emperor’s miracle. He had to admit, religious indoctrination really was powerful sometimes!
They could turn black into white, and white into gold. Even the glow from his monster’s upgrade had proved remarkably useful. If that golden light had been blood-red, black, purple, or green instead, then perhaps he would have become a chosen of Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, or Tzeentch!
At that moment, Rhodes still had more than nine thousand system coins. Dealing with the other two hive tendrils should earn him another ten thousand or so.
Once that was done, he could reinforce the Pedan ship and upgrade King Joe one more time. That should be enough.
He also had no idea how many system coins destroying four hive ships would bring him.
A little over ten minutes later, Rhodes piloted King Joe and the Pedan ship to the base of the third hive tendril.

A considerable number of Tyranids were concentrated here as well, though there were not many more than around the second hive tendril.
Rhodes controlled King Joe and landed directly on the ground, then unleashed a tremendous bombardment.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Pedanium main cannon furiously blasted the Tyranid forces.
Countless Tyranid beasts were reduced to dust before the colossal cannon. At that moment, the Tyranids were practically on the verge of tears.
They had discovered that even the corpses of their kin killed by this gigantic mechanical monster could not be reduced to their original biological matter.
They appeared to have been blown apart, yet there was not even the slightest trace of biomass left on the ground. They had vanished completely. This was an enormous blow to the swarm.
In the past, whether it was humanity or any other faction, if they failed to clear away the corpses after destroying a Tyranid force, the bodies would soon be devoured by rippers.
Those rippers would carry the biomass back to the hive ship, where it would be hatched into other Tyranid organisms.
But all the biomass of the Tyranid forces destroyed by King Joe and Red King was converted into charging energy. The swarm had no way to reclaim it.
The other parts of King Joe also fired Pedanium rays. Attacks from some of the swarm’s airborne and ranged units were blocked by the energy shield covering King Joe’s body.
Unless the attacks were exceptionally powerful, King Joe’s shield could perfectly neutralize them.
Before long, the Pedan ship in the sky worked together with King Joe and severed another hive tendril. Rhodes received more than five thousand system coins.
Half an hour later, Rhodes controlled King Joe to the location of the final hive tendril.
He immediately spent eight thousand coins, upgrading King Joe’s armor and main cannon for the third time.
Blinding golden light appeared once again, and the Tyranids crawling all over King Joe’s body were annihilated once more.
King Joe’s height had now reached seventy meters, while its weight had soared to sixty-five thousand tons.
The Pedanium main cannon had one enhancement opportunity remaining. However, that final enhancement required King Joe to be upgraded to the one-hundred-and-twenty-meter class.
The firepower of this divine machine had already reached an unimaginable level.
This golden radiance of ascension drove the Battle Sisters into another frenzy.

“Forward, Lord Rhodes! For the Emperor! For the Imperium! Let us put an end to those damned creatures!”
The Canoness was utterly exhilarated. By now, she was completely certain that Rhodes was not a psyker, but truly one of the Emperor’s chosen.
After all, even an Alpha-level psyker could never transform a Titan construct standing just over fifty meters tall into a seventy-meter divine machine.
A divine machine capable of flight and possessing such overwhelming vitality was a miracle that only the Emperor could create.
“There’s actually no need for you to go down.”
The golden radiance produced by King Joe had made the Battle Sisters even more feverish.
“I can feel the call of the God-Emperor, Lord Rhodes!” The Canoness’s face was flushed with excitement, and her eyes were filled with fervor.
The remaining Battle Sisters were trembling all over as well, their cheeks bright red. They threw back their heads and shouted with ecstatic enthusiasm.
The corner of Rhodes’s mouth twitched.
These crazy fanatics had genuinely reached a state of ecstasy!
The Space Marines were excited too, but the surgical modifications they had undergone allowed them to suppress many of their more unusual emotions. They had not descended into the same delirious frenzy as the Battle Sisters.
At that moment, a faint golden radiance suddenly illuminated King Joe’s cargo hold.
Rhodes could clearly see that every Battle Sister, including the Canoness, was genuinely glowing with golden light!
What the hell? I didn’t even upgrade anything!
Was this really necessary? Could the Emperor actually be watching this place?
Rhodes nodded, then teleported down with the Battle Sisters, whose entire bodies were shimmering with golden light.
Let’s see what the Emperor’s miracle would turn these fierce women into!
“Ah! For the God-Emperor! To battle!”
The Battle Sisters erupted with unprecedented bloodlust. Their Pedanium rifles swept wildly across the battlefield, while their chainswords carved through the air with fearsome force.
Golden light spread across the entire battlefield. The moment the Tyranid forces came into contact with it, they were scorched and collapsed to the ground in agony.
