"You don't remember anything at all?"

"You don't even know who you came here with?"

"Then how did you even get here?"

After Jiang Li asked several questions in succession, Li Tongxuan could only shake his head in a daze.

Jiang Li finally sighed. "Forget it, I won't get anything out of asking. Just bring him along with us for now."

A moment later, in Ma De’s small courtyard, Ma De looked at the guy standing before him and shook his head quite bluntly.

"No impression. Even if this guy came with us, I wouldn’t remember him. There were a lot of people in the first wave; other than the big shots leading the way, I can't keep track of the rest."

"But looking at this sorry state he's in, he’s nine times out of ten just a poor sap. Maybe he was the type who got kicked out of the game as soon as the fighting started."

Jiang Li nodded slightly and turned to Li Tongxuan. "Do you want to stay?"

Li Tongxuan nodded without hesitation.

"And what can you do?" Jiang Li asked slowly.

Just from the information he had gathered from Ma De, Jiang Li could feel how chaotic that small city had become.

As for the manpower Jiang Li could mobilize, there was only Chu Chunqiu, Su Yang, and the two girls, Qiu Yue and her companion—that was it.

At most, there was also Ma De, who refused to reveal his true colors.

If Li Tongxuan had some skills, whether he could fight or just follow orders, Jiang Li didn't mind adding one more person to his team.

Li Tongxuan looked blank for a moment, then walked toward Jiang Li and grabbed his arm.

"Let go of the Young Master!" Chu Chunqiu and Su Yang rushed forward immediately.

However, Li Tongxuan didn't give them a chance. The moment he grabbed Jiang Li, he stomped hard on the ground and shot into the air, carrying Jiang Li with him. Before they even landed, Li Tongxuan shifted his body horizontally for several dozen meters before finally dropping to the ground.

"Young Master!" Chu Chunqiu rushed over in a panic.

Jiang Li looked at his own hands in disbelief. Did he just get carried into the air by this guy?

Damn it, just by stomping his feet, he flew dozens of meters through the air—is this guy even human?

"Chu Chunqiu, come back," Jiang Li signaled quickly. The man had already displayed such terrifying prowess, and they still dared to charge at him? Weren't they afraid he’d just palm them to death?

"Young Master, are you alright?" Su Yang was full of nerves. Chu Chunqiu might have been slow to react, but he was a rational person. With that kind of strength, killing Jiang Li right under his nose would be child's play for this man.

Jiang Li let out a breath. "I'm fine."

After saying that, Jiang Li looked at Li Tongxuan. "Besides this, can you do anything else?"

Li Tongxuan slowly shook his head. "No. To be honest, I don't even know how I managed to do that."

Jiang Li couldn't help but grimace. An expert. This guy definitely had the script of a protagonist—amnesiac and having forgotten most of his skills.

If he ever remembered them one day, he would surely shake the entire martial arts world of the Great Qian Dynasty.

"Fine, I accept. From now on, you'll follow me, understand?"

"Okay," Li Tongxuan nodded.

"Have you eaten?" Jiang Li asked again.

Li Tongxuan licked his lips and shook his head again.

Jiang Li immediately waved his hand. "Chu Chunqiu, get him something to eat, and get something for yourself while you're at it."

Just then, Ma De came over to Jiang Li’s side with his eyes gleaming.

"Brother Jiang, can we discuss something?"

"Speak your mind, Brother Ma," Jiang Li said casually.

Ma De rubbed his hands together excitedly. "Brother Jiang, to tell you the truth, we’re definitely going back to the New City, right? But you know there are quite a few guys in there who would love to eat me alive."

"When we go back, could you lend me Li Tongxuan for two days?"

"Don't worry, Brother Jiang, just two days. Once I’ve established a foothold, I’ll definitely help you out!"

Jiang Li scoffed. Did he really look like someone who would trust him?

You were chased out of the city like a dog, and even if I gave you another chance, do you really think you, Ma De, could accomplish anything?

"Brother Ma, I am going back with you, and I can provide appropriate help once we arrive. But as you can see, I brought so many people with me, and now I’m down to just these few stragglers."

"Protecting you on the way back is one thing, but expecting us to help you achieve your goals with our current strength is simply impossible!"

"Besides, to put it bluntly, we’ve all been reduced to this state; just staying alive is hard enough. Do you really still want to seize power in the city?"

The light in Ma De’s eyes dimmed. "Yes, Brother Jiang, you’re right. I was a bit impatient. This kind of thing shouldn't be rushed."

"Your words have reminded me, Brother Jiang. Thank you."

As the two were talking, a native arrived and called Ma De away.

"Brother Jiang, let's talk later." Ma De gave a casual greeting and turned to leave with the native.

A quarter of an hour later, Ma De walked back with a strange expression.

"Brother Jiang."

"Hmm, what’s with that look?" Jiang Li asked, puzzled.

"Brother Jiang, you really have a crowd of experts and talented people around you," Ma De remarked with a sigh.

"I just saw a guy calling himself Qin Lang at the leader’s place. His skills are quite impressive. He kicked a tree as thick as a bowl in half with a single strike. He’s definitely a powerhouse!"

Jiang Li rolled his eyes. If it weren't for the fact that this guy’s combat power was a bit too high, he would have had Chu Chunqiu kill him long ago. Why would he have let him live until now?

"Hmm, so how did Wild Bull deal with him?" Jiang Li asked, feeling a bit worried.

As it stood, Qin Lang was a hot potato. If he killed him, Jiang Li was afraid of losing his own men. But if he kept him, the guy wasn't exactly a well-behaved individual.

Ma De slumped onto a stool. "How else? Wild Bull saw how fierce the guy was and naturally told him to stay."

"What’s wrong, Brother Jiang? You don't seem very happy?"

Jiang Li sighed and slowly gave a brief account of what had happened since arriving on the island.

"What?!" Ma De’s eyes widened.

"Something like that happened? This guy is a traitor?"

"The facts are right there," Jiang Li said calmly.

Ma De shivered. "This... what if he sees me getting so close to you and kills me along with you?"

"You’re still doubting it? He’ll definitely kill you," Jiang Li said bluntly.

Ma De paced around anxiously and finally gritted his teeth, coming to Jiang Li’s side. "Brother Jiang, let's just go all the way—let's find a way to finish him off!"

"But this guy is smart and has decent personal strength," Jiang Li hesitated.

Ma De waved his hand quickly. "Brother Jiang, you were able to come up with that nasty plan last time; think of something now!"

"Do you think a plan is that easy to come by?" Jiang Li rubbed his temples.

After thinking for a long while, Ma De whispered, "How about this? Wild Bull said he’s taking Qin Lang out tomorrow to test his skills. Why don't we go too?"

"We can see if there’s a chance to sneak in and finish him off!"

Jiang Li’s eyes lit up. "That might work!"
