Chapter 35: Divergent Fates of the Two Protagonists in the Pregnancy Incident
Zhou Luoyao hurriedly packed her schoolbag and ran over to Class 3 to call Lin Cheng (Zhou Ye and Zheng Nange were both in Class 7).
"Hurry up and pack, you dummy!"
Lin Cheng had no choice but to pack quickly and join her to find Zhou Ye and Zheng Nange.
"Do you two live near each other?"
"It's alright." As soon as Lin Cheng saw the smirking look Zhang Yadong gave Zhou Luoyao, he guessed the situation.
Zhou Luoyao ignored him. Even after they met up with the two brothers, the guy kept following them.
The four of them chatted awkwardly. In truth, Zhou Ye and Zheng Nange were very frustrated. Why? Because Zhang Yadong held the status of a teacher; they couldn't just have a falling out with him, or it would look bad no matter how the story was spread.
"Lin Cheng, what are your plans for this weekend?" Zhou Luoyao asked suddenly.
"Probably reading at home."
"Should I come over to your place? Or you come to mine!" Zhou Luoyao suggested.
"Your place? I don't dare. Let's stick to mine."
"You two are that close? Count me in!" Zhang Yadong interjected. Although it was incredibly awkward, he didn't seem to think so himself.
Seeing that none of the three had any intention of inviting him, Zhang Yadong was filled with resentment, his face etched with annoyance. When it comes to chasing girls, the thickness of some people's skin is truly beyond normal human comprehension.
"What are you afraid of? Uncle Zheng was just asking about you recently," Zhou Luoyao continued.
Lin Cheng knew she was deliberately making things difficult for Zhang Yadong, so he could only give a vague promise: "I'll call you when the time comes."
Zhang Yadong followed them all the way until Zhou Luoyao got into Lin Cheng's little blue car. She really didn't want this guy to know she lived in the Municipal Government Compound. It wasn't that these children from the compounds couldn't handle Zhang Yadong; they just didn't want to stir up unnecessary trouble for the time being.
The next day, Zhang Yadong "ran into" Lin Cheng and asked with a meaningful tone: "Are you and Zhou Luoyao's family very close? You always take her home."
There was a hint of a threat in his words. Teachers at Wuzhou High School strictly discouraged romantic entanglements between students, though they often turned a blind eye to top students. Although Lin Cheng wasn't afraid of his threats, as a model student at Wuzhou High, he valued his reputation and didn't want to cause trouble.
"It's alright," Lin Cheng replied dismissively.
"It's your senior year, don't give your teacher Wang Lixin reason to worry."
Are you freaking telling me what to do? Lin Cheng was already annoyed. "Oh, we've always been like this."
Lin Cheng suppressed his irritation; if the guy weren't a teacher, he would have retorted long ago. With nothing left to say, Zhang Yadong left with a sour look on his face.
Just before bed, Zhou Luoyao sent a message to Lin Cheng.
"Are you asleep?"
"Not yet, just about to. How was your day?"
"So annoying! That Zhang Yadong is like a fly. Can someone like that actually be a teacher? It's unbelievable. He kept asking for my QQ today."
"Did you give it to him?"
"I'm not stupid."
After chatting for over ten minutes, it was time to sleep.
"Goodnight."
"Thanks for helping me ward him off these past two days! Goodnight."
On the third day, Zhang Yadong's harassment continued. During class, he rested his face on one hand and stared at Zhou Luoyao. Since ancient times, deep affection has often gone unrequited, and people always rely on tricks to win hearts. But those tricks depend on who is using them.
Zhang Yadong would gaze at the seventeen-year-old girl for long periods. He seemed to find satisfaction only when he made Zhou Luoyao feel uncomfortable. He completely ignored the fact that Chen Yan's expression had
