Chapter Seventeen: Would You Like to Join Us?
“Cough, cough, Jeongyeon, you don’t have to be so stiff when asking for an autograph.”
Mingyan put away his phone and looked at the two girls in front of him.
He and Hirai Momo had actually met before. After all, Nayeon had been a trainee for quite some time, so Mingyan’s security blacklist wasn’t without reason, though they weren’t exactly close.
Yu Jeongyeon’s face broke into a kind smile. “Mingyan-ssi, my friend would like your autograph. May I ask if that’s possible?”
The second sister wasn’t going to indulge someone’s bad habits.
Mainly because being patted on the butt like that…
“Of course, no problem at all. Actually, I’m a fan of Momo too,” Mingyan smiled and nodded, then turned his gaze to the girl hiding behind the 168 cm tall Yu Jeongyeon.
“Huh?”
Hirai Momo was momentarily caught off guard.
Mingyan was her fan?
While speaking, Mingyan awkwardly mimicked a few dance moves. “Yes, I love watching Momo-chan dance.”
Since Nayeon debuted, Mingyan naturally kept an eye on Twice. Mainly because that guy would randomly check in to see if his good friends were up to date on his life—if they couldn’t answer, there would be trouble.
Of course, Nayeon wasn’t one to play favorites; she could recite all the details of the dramas Mingyan had acted in flawlessly.
The girl even pulled out something Mingyan had said during a late-night radio interview to tease him.
When Mingyan watched Twice’s performances and materials, he paid particular attention to Hirai Momo.
There was a crystal-clear beauty about her.
Most importantly, she was quite well-endowed.
“Thank you,” Hirai Momo said shyly.
She was very reserved, only relaxed when with the members; even her voice would tremble during interviews due to nervousness.
A shy disposition, a stunning figure…
Hah, that sounded a lot like the heroine in some manga.
Mingyan looked around theatrically. “So, Momo-chan, where would be a good place to sign your name?”
“Here,”
Yu Jeongyeon coldly produced a piece of paper and a pen.
An idol’s practice room was never short of such things; they had just signed an album for Kim Min Hwan.
“Wishing Momo continued health in her dancing, and Twice ever more popular. Mingyan.”
He wrote a flourish-filled dedication: “Momo-chan, is this okay?”
“Thank you. Can I ask you a question?” Hirai Momo’s face lit up with a toothy smile.
“Go ahead.”
“Is it true that you and Kim Ji Won-ssi are a couple?”
“…”
Caught off guard, no denial came.
Damn, Hirai Momo hadn’t even admitted to being a shipper before.
Even if she was a shipper, it would be for Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo—they were both preparing to get married.
This was a bit awkward.
Yu Jeongyeon suddenly draped an arm around Hirai Momo’s shoulder. “Momo, maybe he already has another girlfriend. It’s a bit rash to ask like that.”
Compared to the other members, she had known Mingyan longer.
So Yu Jeongyeon understood Mingyan’s character better.
Couple rumors were just deceiving naive viewers like Hirai Momo; the guy had no heart.
“Yu Jeongyeon-ssi, you have to be responsible for your words.”
Mingyan was indeed currently single, in a rare gap.
No choice, better to focus on raising the kid.
Kim Min Hwan: Am I a third wheel now?
“What did I say?”
Yu Jeongyeon was an expert at playing dumb.
Mingyan suddenly raised his hand, and Yu Jeongyeon instinctively stepped back. When she saw he was just scratching his head, she glared sharply.
She didn’t believe Mingyan’s not doing it on purpose.
A direct threat!
“I’m single now.”
Mingyan gave a definite answer.
Broken up means single; that logic held everywhere.
Hirai Momo’s disappointment was clear on her face. When she watched “Descendants of the Sun,” besides the main drama, she studied all sorts of behind-the-scenes materials.
Mingyan and Kim Ji Won’s interactions looked suspicious no matter how she saw it.
Yu Jeongyeon didn’t comment on her roommate’s reaction. After all, it was just acting in a drama. If Hirai Momo knew Mingyan always had women around him, her illusions might shatter.
Better not be the villain; talking bad behind someone’s back wasn’t her style.
“So, will you still work with Kim Ji Won?”
“Hmm… probably unlikely.”
Mingyan gave a vague answer.
Hirai Momo’s eyes brightened—maybe there was still a chance. Perhaps the ship she supported could come true.
“Looks like I can finally have some peace and quiet.”
Yu Jeongyeon had watched “Descendants of the Sun” too. Such a huge hit couldn’t be missed; someone in the waiting or dorm room was always watching it.
Even with bias, second sister had to admit Mingyan was handsome in the drama, especially in his military uniform.
She hadn’t noticed before, but the guy had a tough-guy potential.
“Jeongyeon, I have to say, you should be a little more tolerant.”
Mingyan spoke up for his fan.
Yu Jeongyeon retorted with a scowl, “What do you know? Momo and I are roommates; she talks about couples every night before going to sleep.”
Roommates meaning sharing the same bed.
Twice had only debuted a year. Though settled, their dorm was still modest. Including Nayeon, four slept in the living room; Kim Dahyun shared a room with Son Chaeyoung and Tzuyu.
The small partition in between was for Yu Jeongyeon and Hirai Momo.
Because of limited space, they had to push two beds together, so sleeping side by side was literal.
“Roommates…” Mingyan suddenly felt a bit envious of Yu Jeongyeon.
He suspected second sister had other reasons for joining Twice. This woman’s short haircut was almost cooler than his own; even Nayeon sometimes looked at Yu Jeongyeon with starry eyes.
The coolest member and the one with the most stunning figure sharing the same bed…
Mingyan swore his thoughts were pure, but adults naturally envisioned the most reasonable scenarios.
As for sheer generosity of figure, Hirai Momo wasn’t without competition in the group; leader Park Jihyo was similarly well-built, but she was a bit chubby, looking plump.
That made the difference obvious.
“What’s wrong? You want in too?”
Yu Jeongyeon felt she had seen through Mingyan’s thoughts.
“Of course not. I was just wondering, if I don’t work with Kim Ji Won anymore, will Momo still support me?”
Mingyan quickly regained his composure.
Hirai Momo looked a bit silly. “Oppa, I will always support you.”
“Promise?”
“Promise!”
