Volume 1, Chapter 34: Arrival
The two prodigies of the Fish and Aquatic tribes have both reached the Great Completion level of the Heavenly Sovereign realm. Armed with weapons bathed in countless lives, they exude an air of fierce, violent brutality.
The final hundred points were an eyesore, so I spent them on a bronze draw. The result was predictable: a polite "Thank you for participating."
After seeing Yan Hengfeng off, I checked the time; it was already three in the afternoon. Since there were no urgent matters at the company requiring my attention, I told Pan Yue to take a taxi back while I drove to the kindergarten where Tong'er was.
"Are you sure about taking action?" Ding Wu frowned. His thoughts were much like Zhou Xiong's, yet he had to admit that Liu Wen's argument was quite sharp.
"Heh, don't worry. If they can send people down to the lower realm, why can't I? A hundred experts at the Purple Qi realm—heh heh!" Fang Jun sneered upon hearing this.
"Sigh, Master is just too stubborn. He refuses to ascend to the Spirit Realm together with us, insisting on breaking through here on Earth just to prove he is no less capable than his predecessors..." Ye Hua sighed bitterly.
Finding the opponent annoying, Lin Fan threw a heavy punch. The young saint's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the ground.
"The Hall Spirit's strength is unfathomable. If you must face it, try to concede whenever possible," the voice of Elder Guan Mingyue echoed from behind.
After some hesitation, they each bought a Red Smoke Stone from him to serve as a black market entry ticket. Led by Old Du, the group headed toward the blue vortex.
Rong Nancheng was genuinely happy for Fu Jingsi; he lifted his glass for a sip in celebration.
The silk of the long dress was incredibly smooth and gentle against the skin. Although thin, it felt warm in the hand, much like warm Hetian jade, radiating a soothing, soul-stirring heat.
"Looking at your tone, it sounds like you intend to sever ties with the Jiang family. Could it be that you plan to break off your engagement at such a critical juncture?" One of them voiced what everyone present was thinking.
However, as soon as we emerged, we were met with a chorus of wails and howls from behind. I turned back to see flames reaching toward the sky.
Having followed Fu Jingsi for so many years, Yu Sen had developed a tacit understanding with him. Some people didn't need to be named for the other to react instantly.
"Boom!" A massive explosion sent the two enemies hiding behind the tree flying. Although they were prone, the blast was too close; their bodies were riddled with half a dozen shrapnel wounds.
"Heh, I'm certainly not worried about that. But tell me, he’s not the type to philander. If anything like that were to happen, it wouldn't be him starting it—could it be that you’re the one seducing him?" Xiao Lan smiled at Sun Xue.
Experience is forged through trials, and knowledge is etched into the mind. She refused to believe she couldn't break this formation; all it required was time.
Seeing her calm expression, Yan Munian instantly grasped the situation and understood Yan You’s state of mind.
"Sengoku, are you afraid too? You don't intend to just let the sixth captain of the Beasts Pirates go, do you?" Garp asked, dissatisfied.
"We didn't take the wrong path, did we?" A flicker of worry and fear stirred in the darkness. I just wanted to talk to the landlady; otherwise, the atmosphere was truly suffocating—more so than when we first arrived.
"Oh my, didn't we agree that you’d show me some respect in public? You should learn from Xiaoge; look at how magnanimous she is," the Earth Demon complained.
They could not change or stop such a battle. The only thing they could do was seize the chance to escape the island. As for their homeland—one must be alive to have a home; death leaves nothing behind.
"Guru, may I buy some more roasted meat from you?" He loved the authentic herbivore meat from the Orc Planet. Though the texture was a bit rough, the flavor was unparalleled. One bite was enough to make him crave more, especially since Guru’s partner had a genius for cooking that she rarely shared with anyone but Guru.
No one spoke; they merely nodded. In the blink of an eye, everyone except Earth Soul had left, even Corpse Dog and Swallowing Thief. Silence fell upon the scene.
An Songci was naturally unwilling to give up. Looking around, he spotted Xu Qingmo and latched onto his sleeve like a drowning man clutching a straw.
Fortunately, in such a situation, there were those who looked at the person before them in confusion and spoke out directly.
Wen Qiongyuan had already spoken, and even if Grandmother Wen wanted to stop her, she couldn't. She could only watch helplessly as the situation spiraled, becoming increasingly detrimental to them.
As soon as the words were out, the Halberd of Heaven and Earth struck him. A crackling sound erupted as his armor instantly formed; a Lightning Release Chakra cloak wove together in an instant to block the blow.
Lan Tian was, after all, a personality seasoned in battle. Today, he saw the opponent’s display and felt an intense, curious mix of fear and intrigue.
Though Yun Duan lacked the free-spirited, natural swordplay of Master Fengyang, he was a general who had galloped across battlefields. His swordsmanship was clumsy, but his momentum was fierce. Working in tandem with Master Fengyang—one solid, one illusory—he showed no signs of falling behind.
"General Yun, are you still calculating how to persuade this Daoist? In truth, I am not much different from you; I have no heart for these chaotic affairs. Since we have met, I only seek a clear conscience." Master Fengyang lifted his cup, took a lingering sip, and clicked his tongue in praise.
From this, it was clear that Fu Shixi knew Guan Xian wanted to resolve the Shennong Cauldron matter without alarming the outside world. This was currently the most critical approach.
The sounds of morning training did not ring out as usual. Galio Academy was, at least, somewhat humane; they understood the students' fatigue. Of course, the students had completed their mission perfectly with almost no casualties, so they certainly deserved a reward.
Fortunately, Poliuhan Que was a sensible man and handled the rearguard meticulously. The pursuit they feared never materialized, and Wei Kegu let out a sigh of relief. If an attack had come at such a time, it would have been absolute chaos. It seemed his repeated warnings to guard against ambushes had been effective.
No matter how arrogant or gifted Huo Ziyin was, he had never imagined he could cover in two years the distance others needed a hundred or even hundreds of years to traverse.
