Lin Chen remained calm and composed, speaking with measured ease, "Master Liu, what exactly are you after with these actions? First, you sent your disciples to take my life without any reason, and now you even attempt to kill me yourself?"

"Hmph! No reason? You sure have a silver tongue. If you hadn't stolen Qin Hao's merit, why would I send them to trouble you? And Wen Yun was harmed by you too!" Liu Ruohan's eyes blazed with fury as she shouted hoarsely.

Lin Chen was bewildered by the sudden accusation. He had only crippled Wen Yun's cultivation, never intending to kill her. Was the girl so fragile that a setback drove her to such despair? As for Qin Hao's merit, he had never even touched it. Though unafraid to confront his sect, he would not bear a baseless accusation.

His face cold as ice, he said emotionlessly, "I never touched Qin Hao's merit. Wen Yun was only injured and still alive. I urge you, Master Liu, to investigate thoroughly and find the truth before seeking retribution."

"You insolent disciple dares to speak so! I will see for myself the truth," Liu Ruohan said sharply, raising her hand to probe his soul.

Fox Charm tried to intervene, but Lin Chen shook his head gently, signaling her not to worry. In such a situation, it was either reveal the truth or upend the entire Peach Blossom Sect. Naturally, he chose the former; he was not one to stir trouble needlessly.

As time passed silently, after examining all his memories, Liu Ruohan collapsed like a deflated balloon, murmuring repeatedly, "Impossible, absolutely impossible. How could I have been so ignorant?"

She shook her head desperately, refusing to believe, "Your memories must be fabricated, they must be false." At that moment, she teetered on the edge of madness.

Lin Chen's expression was as cold as frost, his words ruthless, "Master Liu, I have allowed you to search my soul. If there is nothing else, please leave. As for your precious disciple, I suspect she could not bear the blow and chose her own fate."

Her thoughts shattered, Liu Ruohan fell to her knees with a thud, crying bitterly, "Forgive me, I was wrong. Come back with me, and I will make those who have done wrong pay dearly. I will avenge you."

"Forget it. With your muddled mind, you’ll be easily duped by those so-called good disciples and come looking for trouble again," Lin Chen said disdainfully.

"No, I will firmly believe you from now on and never be deceived again. Please give me a chance to make amends, Chen," Liu Ruohan begged through tears, her voice torn with anguish.

"Leave. Since I stepped out of the Peach Blossom Sect, I am no longer your disciple. Don’t bother me again; that is the best way to make amends," Lin Chen said calmly, without a trace of emotion.

"Fine..." Liu Ruohan collapsed, uttering the word brokenly, then staggered out of the courtyard.

Once outside, she wiped away her tears, her eyes flashing with a fierce, terrifying killing intent. From Lin Chen’s memories, she learned that her disciples had constantly schemed against him. Especially Qin Hao—only now did she realize Lin Chen was not dull or foolish; it was Qin Hao, seemingly honest, who secretly stole his opportunities. Worse, Qin Hao had slandered Lin Chen, accusing him falsely. It was her own foolishness to have believed such lies.

She knew Wen Yun was timid and cowardly, utterly incapable of suicide. The only possible culprit was Ye Ling’er’s poisoning.

Lost in thought, she returned to the Peach Blossom Sect. Upon arriving at the main peak, Ye Ling’er rushed up anxiously, her face alight with eager anticipation, "Master, is that useless one dead yet?"

She had believed that with the master’s direct intervention, Lin Chen would be utterly destroyed. At the thought, a rare, arrogant smile spread across her face.

Suddenly, Liu Ruohan’s voice rang cold and sharp, "When you killed your junior sister, what were you thinking? After more than ten years together, was there no hesitation, no pity at all?"

Ye Ling’er’s body trembled violently, stammering, "Master, what are you saying? I... I don’t understand."

With a sharp slap, Liu Ruohan struck her across the face, furious beyond measure, "Still denying it? Have I spoiled you so much that you would do this to your own sister?"

"Master, I didn’t! It must be that useless Lin Chen is stirring up trouble and sowing discord. Please believe me," Ye Ling’er wept bitterly.

"Good, good, good... you truly are my ‘good’ disciple. You think I can’t do anything just because you refuse to admit it?" Liu Ruohan growled, eyes blazing.

She waved her hand and began to probe Ye Ling’er’s soul without hesitation.

Terrified, Ye Ling’er pleaded repeatedly, bowing her head, "Master, I know I was wrong. Please stop looking, I’m sorry."

She knew that if her soul was probed, all her misdeeds would be exposed.

But Liu Ruohan continued relentlessly, her face darkening like storm clouds before a tempest.

Suddenly, with a thunderous strike, Ye Ling’er was sent flying several meters, crashing into a wall and falling in a pitiful heap.

She coughed up blood, her face pale with terror, and crawled forward to kneel, begging, "Master, I know I was wrong. Please spare my life and give me a chance to change."

Liu Ruohan snorted coldly, "Hmph! Why didn’t you give your junior sister a chance when you killed her?"

"Master, she was already crippled... I just wanted to help her end her suffering sooner," Ye Ling’er stammered fearfully.

"How dare you! You’re lawless and reckless. If you want to live, go to the Cliff of Reflection to face punishment!" Liu Ruohan’s face was ashen with rage.

"Master, no! I won’t dare again. I’ll go right now," Ye Ling’er wailed, heartbroken and desperate.

"Get out! I don’t want to hear any more lies or deceit. One more word, and I’ll end your life myself," Liu Ruohan’s eyes blazed with murderous intent.

Ye Ling’er trembled uncontrollably, leaving filled with bitterness and resentment. After leaving the main peak, she muttered angrily, "Why? Why? Lin Chen crippled my sister, yet why must I be punished?"
