Chapter 29: Passing through a myriad of flowers, yet not a single petal clings to one's robes.

Clearly, Yan Ruyu had the same intention. She considered herself without equal among the younger generation.
Yet before this demoness, she had not only lost the argument but was also powerless to do anything to her in a fight.
What infuriated her most was that the demoness had actually dared to embrace the man she had set her heart on.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Her eyes turned blood-red, her face as cold as ice, and she cursed furiously, “You shameless demoness! I’ll beat you to—”
“Ahem, ahem, ahem!”
Lin Chen slowly walked up before the two women and cleared his throat several times. “Miss Yan, let us part here. I still have some matters that require her assistance. I hope you can do us this favor. If fate allows us to meet again, I will apologize to you in person.”
The instant his words fell, Xie Mengmeng was steadily set down on the ground by the enormous palm.
With a triumphant look on her face, she stepped forward and linked her arm through Lin Chen’s. Resting her head against his shoulder, she said haughtily, “Goodbye, lunatic! No, wait… never see you again.”
Fortunately, Xie Mengmeng had not taken advantage of the situation. Lin Chen knew she was not someone who slaughtered innocents, so there had to be some misunderstanding involved.
However, with both women furious, there was nothing he could do. He could only wave goodbye and leave.
This enraged Yan Ruyu even more. She shouted angrily, “Lin Chen, how can you fail to tell right from wrong? I was kindly helping you, yet you’re helping this demoness deal with me!”
Most infuriating of all, Xie Mengmeng even turned around and stuck out her tongue at her.
Only long after the two had left did the enormous golden palm—which had appeared from who knew where—finally release Yan Ruyu. She moved her somewhat numb body.
A sour, tingling sensation welled up inside her. She stamped her foot and angrily berated him, “You, Lin Chen! What’s so good about that demoness? You’re really infuriating me to death!”
After thinking for a moment, she muttered, “No, that’s not right. He must have been bewitched by that demoness. I have to hurry and save him, otherwise…”
At that thought, she dared not continue imagining the consequences. She quickly returned to the carriage and shouted, “Da Bao, Er Bao, pick up the pace! We must reach Splendid City before dawn!”
As soon as she finished speaking, the two horses galloped through the darkness at flying speed.
Meanwhile, the Golden House, propelled by the little golden man, sped through the sky.
Inside, the two people and the donkey stared at him in utter shock.
Fortunately, it was the middle of the night. Otherwise, countless people would have dropped their jaws in astonishment.
Lin Chen kept circling the golden man before him, examining him without pause. He looked exactly like a living person, yet the more Lin Chen studied that color, the stranger it seemed.

After his initial excitement wore off, Lin Chen finally leaned against the wall and sat down on the floor.
Xie Mengmeng was much the same. She had wanted to attempt another intimate contact with the little golden man to increase her cultivation.
However, she had nearly been crushed to death by the little golden man’s immense aura, so she could only sit obediently to one side.
“By the way, Lin Chen, who are you asking me to deal with this time?” Xie Mengmeng shifted a little closer to him and asked in a low voice.
“Mo Qinghai,” Lin Chen replied without hesitation.
“Mo Qinghai? That shouldn’t be too difficult. But his elder brother may be troublesome. Isn’t the Inspection Bureau backing him?” Xie Mengmeng pondered for a moment before speaking slowly.
The Joyous Union Sect was based in White Cloud Town and did not know much about what happened in Splendid City. As for the trivial affairs of those scions of prominent families, she had heard only bits and pieces.
Mo Qinghai, however, was notorious enough that she could hardly have been unaware of him.
People often joked that Splendid City had two great heirs of prestigious families: one was the elegant and refined Wang Yiwei, while the other was the arrogant and overbearing Mo Qinghai.
“Whoever stands behind him is irrelevant. He must die. If his elder brother gets involved, I don’t mind dealing with him as well. If you regret this, you may leave on your own.” Lin Chen’s eyes were filled with murderous intent.
He had crossed mountains and rivers to come here for the sole purpose of killing this man, so that the widow from the Li family and her son could live in peace from now on.
He would not give up merely because Mo Qinghai was a disciple of the Inspection Bureau. If soldiers came, he would meet them with soldiers; if floods came, he would hold them back with earth.
At worst, he would kill them all together. Even if the Inspection Bureau intended to protect them, he would not hesitate to slaughter his way through the entire organization.
In the past, he had lacked such confidence. But now that he had the little golden man at his side, he could finally throw himself into whatever he wished to accomplish.
The little golden man had said that he was at the Foundation Establishment realm, though Lin Chen had no idea what that meant. In any case, it was clearly very powerful.
According to the little golden man, against opponents like Yan Ruyu and Xie Mengmeng, he needed only to move a finger to deal with them. It seemed that handling a Grandmaster would not be difficult either.
Xie Mengmeng said unhappily, “I only said he would be difficult to kill. I never said he couldn’t be killed. I’ve already offended the Yaoguang Sacred Land, so why would I fear the Inspection Bureau?”
“We’ll talk after we arrive. We can’t go around killing people without figuring everything out first,” Lin Chen said after some thought.
As they spoke, they had already arrived at the gates of Splendid City.
The two people and the donkey emerged from the Golden House and entered the greatest city under heaven.
The city was ablaze with lights. Unlike other cities, its streets were still filled with small merchants and peddlers despite the late hour.
People continued to come and go along the streets, which showed no sign of falling quiet simply because night had fallen.

Walking among the orderly pavilions and elegant residences gave the place a distinctive charm.
Moonlight bathed the two of them, reflecting the rosy flush on their cheeks.
Before long, they arrived at the entrance of the Welcome Inn. Xie Mengmeng leaned close to Lin Chen’s ear and whispered, “If you’re looking for Mo Qinghai, we can try the Hundred Flowers Pavilion. I heard he often stays there.”
The Hundred Flowers Pavilion was, in plainer terms, a brothel.
Lin Chen shook his head helplessly. “Forget it. You know perfectly well that I don’t have much money. I can’t afford to go there.”
“I do!” As she spoke, she took a gleaming golden ingot from her storage ring and waved it before Lin Chen’s eyes. “I have piles of this vulgar stuff.”
“Fine, then let’s go.” Lin Chen took a step forward.
Xie Mengmeng hurriedly grabbed him. “Wait for me. I need to go inside and change my clothes.”
Lin Chen nodded and waited where he was.
Before long, the ample curves beneath Xie Mengmeng’s chest had disappeared. Lin Chen had no idea how she had managed it. In addition, she had stuck on a fake mustache, which looked surprisingly convincing.
She deliberately raised her voice and said, “Brother Lin, please lead the way. Today, I, Young Master Xie, am treating you. I shall ensure you enjoy the beauties of the Hundred Flowers Pavilion!”
At the same time, she draped an arm over Lin Chen’s shoulder and stroked her little mustache in a thoroughly convincing manner.
At first glance, she truly looked like a man. The only flaw was that the unique fragrance of a woman still clung to her body.
Lin Chen secretly laughed to himself and thought, She’s taken the role far too seriously.
Within the Hundred Flowers Pavilion, lingering music filled the air. There was singing and dancing everywhere, along with beautiful women whose bodies were half concealed.
Upon entering, Lin Chen felt somewhat ill at ease. He followed behind Xie Mengmeng, deliberately avoiding the gazes of the women.
After a moment, an enchantingly voluptuous middle-aged woman slowly approached them.
Her surging bosom rose and fell prominently, and the alluring curves of her figure were so pronounced that even Xie Mengmeng felt inferior.
She parted her delicate lips and asked, “Are the two young masters here to watch the dancing, or would you like to go upstairs?”
