009 Truth or Dare
Upon hearing this, Liu Jianhua immediately grew displeased. With a sharp, piercing voice like firecrackers, she snapped at Huang Jincai, "What do you mean? Do you think I’d just make things up to fool you all?"
Being spat on by this sharp-tongued shrew, Huang Jincai suddenly regretted his impulsiveness. He shouldn’t have jumped into the fray and become the scapegoat.
Though filled with regret, he still forced a smile, "Of course, Aunt Liu, I believe in your character, but I’m no Judge Bao; how could I possibly judge the truth of your case?"
Liu Jianhua snorted angrily, glancing sideways at Huang Jincai, who had distanced himself from the matter, openly showing her contempt. Huang Jincai chose to feign blindness, turning his gaze elsewhere.
The sky was so blue.
The leaves so yellow.
And this courtyard smelled absolutely foul!
He admired the natural scenery.
Others were no fools; following suit, they began to feign deafness and dumbness.
Who would want to get involved in Liu Jianhua’s messy problems and invite trouble?
Seeing that no one was reliable, Liu Jianhua ground her teeth with hatred and shifted her focus onto Qu Zhanyi.
“Xu Xinyou, if you don’t pay me thirty thousand yuan for injuring me, I won’t let you off.”
Qu Zhanyi, who was basking comfortably in the sun, was suddenly singled out.
“Thirty thousand yuan? Auntie, you’re seriously undervaluing yourself. Buying your life would cost way more than that,” she said with a smile, stepping up to Liu Jianhua.
The system, worried that she might resort to violence again, quickly issued a warning.
[Target Liu Jianhua’s morality value has dropped to -15; hazard index has increased to 20.]
[It is recommended that the host use tools reasonably to more efficiently and quickly raise the target’s morality value and reduce their hazard index.]
Qu Zhanyi rubbed her fingertips, recalling the ‘Truth or Dare’ tool she had tossed aside earlier.
The system had explained that ‘Truth or Dare’ could compel the opponent to tell the truth and complete a daring task simultaneously.
With this thought, a spark of interest ignited within her.
Upon hearing this, Liu Jianhua utterly exploded.
Her mouth turned into a spewing machine of abuse, her hands flailing wildly as she lunged at Qu Zhanyi.
Qu Zhanyi effortlessly dodged her clumsy attacks and, in the moment she turned, tapped her on the back.
The ‘Truth or Dare’ tool immediately took effect.
“Aunt Liu, is there some secret in Yanjiao Village you don’t know about?”
Liu Jianhua swiped at thin air, her anger simmering within. Despite her confusion, her mouth moved involuntarily in response to the question.
“There’s no matter in this village that I, Liu Jianhua, don’t know.”
As if to prove her intelligence gathering skills, she pointed at the ever-invisible Huang Jincai.
“He’s spied on Zhang Cuilan peeing three times and pooping five times.”
Hearing this, Huang Jincai’s eyes bulged; his mind was struck as if hit by a heavy blow, leaving him dazed.
When he finally recovered, he saw everyone looking at him with ambiguous expressions, his face flushing so red that it pierced through his dark skin.
Both embarrassed and furious, Huang Jincai had nowhere to vent and could only roar at Liu Jianhua.
“You damn liar! I’ve never done such shameful things like spying on Zhang Cuilan peeing or pooping. Liu Jianhua, I warn you, don’t think about pinning this crap on me!”
Startled by his outburst, Liu Jianhua suddenly realized she had spoken falsely.
Just as she was about to argue, Qu Zhanyi interjected, “So it turns out everything you said is a lie.”
Liu Jianhua immediately retorted instinctively, “You’re talking nonsense! Everything I said is true. If there’s a single lie, then I’ll wear the shit pot on my head!”
