Liu Yiyi’s ears flushed red for a moment.
“Miss, what kind of compliment is that?”
Ji Hua smiled as she rose, teasing lightly.
“That’s a compliment on your fairness—you look like a jade doll.”
Seeing Liu Yiyi’s rosy cheeks, she couldn’t help but reach out and pinch them gently. “Enough with the shyness. Hurry up and get ready; we need to set off.”
Only then did Liu Yiyi remember the important matter at hand. She promptly responded and hurried off to prepare.

Yue Hanshan.
Crossing the bridge made of white jade stones and passing through the misty hot springs, Ji Hua followed Jiu Qing into a small pavilion.
Jiu Qing stepped aside, and Ji Hua immediately saw the poised and unrestrained figure of a man beyond the ordinary.
“Clan Leader Rong.”
As she spoke, Ji Hua removed the veil covering her head.
Rong Yuyan turned around, surprised by the gesture, thinking Ji Hua was no longer trying to conceal herself.
But when Ji Hua took off the veil and revealed the plain white mask, Rong Yuyan burst into laughter, amused.
“Miss, you’re quite thorough in your precautions.”
Ji Hua, holding the veil in her hand, replied with a playful tone.
“I have no choice. My medical skills are excellent, and I fear that if I reveal my face, I might be forcibly taken away. Innocent until proven guilty—avoiding blame is necessary. Not every patient is like you, clan leader, a man of honor.”
“Besides, this mask guards against gentlemen, but not scoundrels. If you insist on seeing my face, I won’t be able to stop you.”
Rong Yuyan understood that Ji Hua was indirectly flattering him and responded coldly.
“Compliments about my honor won’t help. Maybe one day I won’t act so gentlemanly, and flattery won’t keep me in check.”
Ji Hua paused, then gave up the banter and smiled at Jiu Qing, instructing,
“Let’s begin detoxifying Clan Leader Rong.”
Afterward, she listed the herbs she needed.
Jiu Qing listened attentively but his expression slightly changed when she mentioned the latter ingredients.
When Ji Hua finished, he cautiously glanced at the clan leader, then asked her,
“Miss, the earlier herbs are fine, but the venomous snakes, scorpions, centipedes, spiders, and toads you mentioned—are you sure these are for detoxifying my clan leader?”

All five poisons.
Are you certain you’re not trying to poison our clan leader outright?
Jiu Qing didn’t say this outright, but that was the essence of his doubt.
It seemed she had anticipated his question because, catching Rong Yuyan’s puzzled gaze, Ji Hua explained.
“Your doubts are understandable. I can explain. These five poisons are essential. The detoxification process has reached a critical phase—eliminating toxins.”
“My previous treatments each had a purpose: the first opened the meridians, the second nourished qi and blood. Now, it’s time for the third stage—detoxification.”
Ji Hua paused, then elaborated carefully.
“Ordinary herbs can only neutralize part of the poison, but the clan leader’s poisoning is severe and complex, involving many rare and unusual toxins. These poisons interweave inside his body.”
“The clan leader’s body has been forced to tolerate this toxic tangle, maintaining a strange balance for survival. Removing one poison rashly would allow the others to run rampant.”
“In such a case, I cannot guarantee the clan leader’s survival. Therefore, I choose to fight poison with poison, first expelling most of the mixed toxins simultaneously. Once only a trace remains, I will neutralize the residual poisons one by one with appropriate herbs, minimizing harm.”
Ji Hua’s explanation was clear and convincing.
Both Rong Yuyan and Jiu Qing understood.
However, since the treatment was the clan leader’s own decision, and he had not spoken, Jiu Qing dared not question the only doctor capable of detoxifying him.
After a moment’s thought, Rong Yuyan’s dark eyes shifted to the masked woman.
“Very well, we shall proceed as you say.”
Ji Hua nodded. “Don’t worry, clan leader. Though using poison against poison is risky, I will control the dosage carefully to avoid harming you.”
She then instructed Jiu Qing,
“Prepare the medicinal bath for the clan leader as before.”
Jiu Qing immediately went to make preparations.
At that moment, Ji Hua stepped forward and stood before Rong Yuyan.
“Clan leader, I need to insert several needles to suppress most of your internal energy, leaving only ten percent. The five poisons I require will be brewed into a toxic decoction, combined with other herbs for you to ingest.”
“This toxic broth will confront the toxins in your body. If your internal energy surges wildly, it will disturb the expulsion process, so you must be very careful.”
“During detoxification, you will feel extreme sensations of heat and cold and sharp pain as if your meridians are tearing. You must remain calm and, guided by my silver needles, use your internal energy to expel all poisonous blood.”
“Most importantly, do not let your internal energy wander uncontrolled; otherwise, you won’t expel the poison, but might instead integrate the new toxins into your vital organs.”

Rong Yuyan frowned, listening intently.
“Understood.”
As their conversation ended, Jiu Qing returned with the prepared decoction—both for bathing and drinking.
At the small bath, Ji Hua told Rong Yuyan to remove his clothes first.
Glancing at the eyes behind the plain mask, Rong Yuyan undid his upper garments, revealing smooth, pale, and well-built skin.
Ji Hua momentarily faltered but quickly composed herself, opening her acupuncture kit and placing several needles at key points on Rong Yuyan’s body, sealing most of his internal energy.
“Clan leader, please enter the medicinal bath.”
Rong Yuyan sat down in the bath.
Jiu Qing handed him the toxic broth.
Aside from the herbal fragrance, the decoction carried several unpleasant fishy odors—the stench of toxins extracted from the five poisonous creatures as Ji Hua had instructed.
Jiu Qing hesitated and asked,
“Doctor, is it really safe to drink these five poisons?”
Ji Hua patiently explained,
“These five poisons are actually the simplest and most potent. Ordinary people would certainly suffer, but the clan leader is no ordinary man.”
“Rest assured, once these poisons expel most of the others in his body, I will immediately neutralize their toxicity. The clan leader will be unharmed.”
Compared to Jiu Qing’s worries,
Rong Yuyan was impatient and said sternly, “Jiu Qing, hand it over.”
Jiu Qing had no choice but to present the bowl.
Rong Yuyan drank it down in one gulp without even furrowing his brow, as if he sensed no foulness.
Jiu Qing swallowed nervously and stepped back with the empty bowl.
Ji Hua tested the water temperature and said to Rong Yuyan,
“Clan leader, let’s begin.”
She then knelt at the edge of the bath and started inserting needles.
“Clan leader, wherever my needles fall, that is where your internal energy must flow. Let’s start.”
